I can live with it being a couple mm wider, shorter (when including the atenna), and thinner than the 650....for the wealth of added benefits of bigger screen real estate, landscape mode for docs spreadsheets and surfing the web, full Wifi support, and 128 internal mem.

But I understand that for some if it is a single mm more than the treo it's not for them. The value of a wide a market to suite everyone's needs.

Hi Sloop...good catch on this one....I didn't know you ventured over here on side of the fence. I saw your post over at SprintUsers.com and I didn't see your thread here and posted posted your find on another thread!

    Keep it up!

Well, I'm not including the antenna as part of the equation.

It's bigger than the HP 22xx, (looks like a fat 19xx though), and thats before you slide the keypad out. I'll admit I'd take it over the HP 6315 which I had considered before settling on the Treo.

I just like the size of my 650. It fits in my pocket and hand better than my Toshiba e750. Funny, as a PDA, I don't mind the size. But as a phone, I want smaller. Go figure...

I agree....the dream phone I posted on another thread here included the form factor of the 650 with the screen sliding up to give the 660x screen size when needed. I love both features and would love to have both in one phone!

    Ahhh...the best of both worlds...

Just to add my final two cents, the 660x is to me the perfect PPC phone to date, sight unseen.

I'm not a die-hard for either platform, though I am more PPC-centric. However, I've been been put off by the PPC phones. The Thera had poor battery life (much like the Maestro, which I actually still have in my drawer.) The Samsung 1700 and Siemens/T-Mobiles all lacked a keypad. The Hitachi, I thought was just **** ugly. The HP 6315 was close, and if it only had a faster CPU, may have won me over, though the plug-in keypad seems like a replacement part in the waiting.

Maybe the next big PPC phone will win me back.

TonyH, I see you've owned both the 650 and 6601. Why did you move to the 6601? I've currently got the 6601 but the size is a bit much for me. Plus, I've got the beep. AND when I have Vision disconnected, I get a "Network is Busy" message and I have to redial the number a few times until it finally goes through. I haven't heard anyone else with this problem.

The Treo 650 did worse while web browsing. I lost track of how many times I had to hit the home button again to reestablish a network connection and try to reload a page that could not be loaded the first time.

As for the size, the 6600 felt perfect in my hands, and so did the keyboard.

Hobbes, I think I should boycott your posts because they induce too much anxiety in me

Btw, see my post about Sprint Vision. I gotta clear this with Sprint, or jump ship again
