According to other TC'ers over in the Bluetooth forum, it sounds like the P1 Official BT Carkit update is about as good as the unofficial BT stack update for the 660x for the headsets......a step closer, but not quite there yet for either of them.

Inform me, Hobbes... I have a few questions.

You mentioned an "unofficial BT stack update" for the 660x. Are there plans to update the BT to 1.2?

Have you heard, or is it possible that the 660x can be upgraded to WME2005 when it comes out?

Also, there are alot of names thrown around with regard to highspeed cellular. CDMA2000, 3G, EVDO, EDGE, 1xRTT, GSM, GRSM, whatever. What are the differences? My 6601 shows "3G Active"; I get speeds of around 200kbps when testing with dslreports mobile test (Actually, I can't find a mobile test [non-java based] that allows higher speeds yet.

Please educate me oh wise one!

An offical patch that fixes some of the problems versus no official patch to fix anything? I know which one I'd rather have.

I don't know about the rest of you but my sx66 paired with my Logitech Mobile Freedom works great after my unofficial bt patch ver. 3500. I now am perfectly happy with my setup. Sorry if that deflates some of you Treo loyalists.

PPC6601 paired perfectly with Moto HS810, and seems to be much better than when I used it on T650 (both noice and volume). I did not install any bt patches.

I don't know how I missed this thread all this time. But Noob had a bad experience with a PPC6601 and is trying to convince the whole world to stay away from it. As a former user of Treo 650 I never tell anyone to stay away from it because I know the problems that some, not all, people experience can and will be fixed.

BT to 1.2.....we will see when the official stack comes out.

Any phone can upgrade to WME2205, but we rarely ever know if the manufacturer provides it or not until it is released.

I am not the best one to talk about the connection options because I cannot rattle off all the speeds, but here is list of sights that another member over at SprintUsers.com listed as his speed with his 6601's Wifi Card:

    526 kbps down @ http://members.cavtel.net/speed/
    389 kbps down @ speed.sprintbbd.net/speedtest.cgi
    506 kbps down @ shreve.net/speedtest
    488 kbps down @ quake.iland.net/dsltest
    454 kbps down @ http://www.toast.net/performance
    400 kbps down @ http://test.x5wireless.com
    430 kbps down @ speedtest.nls.net
    816 kbps down @ http://www.ececs.uc.edu/~annexste/speed100.html
    447 kbps down @ http://www.needhosting.net/bw/index.php
    500 kbps down @ http://infospeed.verizon.net/

You can use these sights to test your speeds.
