I have seen questions scattered throughout this whole forum asking about accessories for the PPC-660x style phones.....so I wanted to bring all those into one thread for a handy reference.

Here is what I have for my PPC-6601:
    • Bluetooth Think Outside Stowaway Keyboard. Just arrived today....And it works great! The built in sliding keyboard works great for short emails, web addresses, etc... but if you do any typing at all, this is the ultimate keyboard for you. It even comes with a nice padded protective case that zips up. The cool thing is that since it is BT it can stay with me no matter what my next phone is. Easy set up once I download the updated version of 4.11 and installed that one. ($89-$149)
      http://www.mobileplanet.com/
    • I just also bought the Bluetooth Think Outside Stowaway Travel Mouse, so when using the keyboard, the phone is the cradle, or simply just playing games. I can use a mouse instead of a stylus. Not a necesity but was just cool enough for me to try it out. I will let you know how it works as soon as I get it. ($50)
      http://www.ecost.com/ecost/ecsplash/...asp?dpno=64358
    • 1 GB Utra II Scandisk SD Card ($85-$100)....I cannot wait until the 2 GB cards comes out or down in price a bit.
    • Socket Wifi Card. Works flawlessly and dead easy to install and setup. ($69-$89).....do NOT get the Scandisk 256 mb Wifi combo card as they will not write any drivers for it to work.

    • Extra battery. A must have, no matter what phone you own. ($50)
      http://www.tessco.com/products/getPr....do?sku=434774
    • Itrek Bluetooth GPS unit (with iGuidance map software). ($109 for unit and $99 for software. You can get 10% off coupon by joining GPSpassion)
      http://www.semsons.com/iblgpsre16ch.html
      http://www.semsons.com/ignavsof.html
    • Bluetooth USB Doggle for my laptop so I can sync with laptop via bluetooth ($29)
      http://www.mobileplanet.com/
    • AA quick charger. From Boxware. This is a little box with four AAs in it for a quick charge for your phone in the emergency that you can't find a plug in. Great for playing games and watching movies on 5 hour plane flights.
    • Car charger from Boxware
    • Travel wall charger from Boxware
    • Retractable sync cable from Boxware
    • Screen protector. The Non-Glare one from Boxwave. (all the Boxware stuff came in a bundled package for around $60-70)
      http://www.boxwave.com/products/easy...c-6601_434.htm
    • Piel Frama case. Very nice case that lets you still use the sliding keyboard while still in the case. (around $60). Please see the great post by g.711 with loads of links to cases: Cases for the SX66 PD2K PPC6600 XDA
    • MS Voice Command -- Okay I know this is software not a hardware accessory, but it is such a Must Have, I just had to list it here. ($30)
Addtional Resources for other accessories or different options than the ones listed above:
Okay I think that is all I have for this phone at the moment....but as anyone who knows me already knows....I am always looking for that extra gadget I overlooked. Please share what you have for your PPC-660x compatible phone.

The cool thing is that memory card, SD Wifi card, and all of the BT stuff should hopefully stay with me with whatever phone I upgrade to next!

Your leading the pack Hobbes, my SX66 should arrive tomorrow, but at this rate I won't get off the road till Thursday to see it....grrrrrr..

Anyway, why do you need a Wifi socket card? Doesn't the unit already have WiFi? <<is confused.

    Teach me Obie One!

How about a BT headset? I have my eye on the Jabra 250...I wish it wasn't so James Kirkish though.......

Patience, young Padiwan....you must show patience to survive this world of Treo with a 6601 in your hand.

The wifi is ONLY included on the GMS models. HTC (the company that makes the phone and sells it to all the other companies to brand it under their name) has never made a CDMA with built in Wifi. But at least it offers easy and seemless wifi card support.....<elbow knudge> <wink> P1.

This is the thing I left off my I am going to buy list....BT headset. I am not the one to ask on that but if you go to Bluetooth section of TC, PDAphonehome, PocketPCthoughts, and Howard Forums...and you will find some great suggestions on this. Let us know what you find.

I just ordered the HBH-660. I'll post a review after I get it.

The caller id worked, but i had more static with it than I did with my moto 810... so I ended up switching back.
Ever wonder if those FreeIPOD / FreeMiniMac scam sites work? Well, I found out Have a look at the results:

Okay.....this is just WAY TOO COOL....to the point of adding it to my Must Have List.....

The Stowaway BT Mouse makes the phone a whole new device!!!!!! It just arrived 20 minutes ago and (once you find the small Discovery Button on the bottom of the mouse) is a no brainer setup.

When I am in the office I keep my 6601 in the cradle right next to me on the desk. I frequently use it throughout the day. Now with this mouse....no hardware buttons....no stylus....no voice commands. Just point and click!

EDIT: Just an interesting side note...this is my last day with my phone with the cracked screen (Sprint lost the last two orders to replace it). But I wish I would have bought the mouse first off as the cracked screen does not effect the calibration of the mouse at all....the the touch of the stylus.

EDIT: After a day of using it, I am still just as impressed with it. I do notice some laging response during graphically intensive games, but other than that very responsive.

Very Cool!! It's made me think about a Christmas present I am getting from my youngest daughter....a wireless mouse from MS.....do you suppose that is a BT mouse? And do you think it will connect with my handheld? hmmmmmmmm Then I wouldn't have to carry two devices....hmmmmm

edit: Bummer, I just checked out the specs for the mouse...it's an RF design...hmm I wonder if Santa would notice the old switchero!! lol

Okay...I also got my iTrek BT GPS with iGuidance software last night and had my first chance to play with it today.

Again, my research has paid off as it worked flawlessly! Easy to install, pair, and use....but the hardware and the software.

The program is very nicely thought out. It is very fast in recalculating a route when I purposely when another way. I can see with only using one day that this is going to be one those "How did live without that" items!!!!!

I bought through semens through GPSpassion and it even came with a vent holder. It is low end, but very functional and will work just fine for me.

Man, I know this forum is probably not the place to say this, but all I can say is that more I use the 6601, the more impressed I am with it and the more I feel like I graduated from the Treo 600 into the next level of mobility....both with power, ease of use, features, and opportunities.

I think the next accessory I need to get is some sort of bag to hold all my accessories!

My new phone, without a cracked screen, will be here tomorrow as well....can't wait! I've never really grown up in the fact that I still get so excited looking forward something.

Will the batteries for sprint/t-mobile etc versions of the 6600 (6601 for example) work in the 6600? Or must it be the Harrier battery for the harrier phone?

I mistakenly didn't buy an extra battery, or even a charger, when I ordered the phone. I'd like to pick one up pronto without having to order it and wait... verizon stores won't have it, they don't even know the phone exists yet...

    Thanks

Among CDMA phones there "should" be no problems.....as far as GSM to CDMA models, I would ask the before ordering.
