Good find! So I guess me (a consumer) calling up the 888 number to try to get one wouldn't work?

I don't know if "removed" is the right word since the CDMA version in the US never had it, but you are correct that there is no WiFi. Instead it has EVDO which is probably useless until Sprint turns itheir EVDO network on (although Verizon does have it running in select cities, so when they release the phone, it will be able to take advantage of EVDO if it is available in the area).

They are all the same HTC model, so it does. Somewhere there was a quote from someone at Sprint saying that it is not turned on since their EVDO network isn't turned on, but it can be enabled by software. Maybe it will be the same software patch that uncripples bluetooth?

Not available through business sales or telesales yet. Who knows when they'll officially offer it. I am hoping they just hafta update their computers and it'll be up later today =)

I just talked to a business support rep. and they didn't know anything about it until they talked to someone in marketing. They told her that they were waiting for the shippments to make it to the Sprint stores before making it available as an over the phone order. Supposedly that should be complete sometime next week they said.

Yep, get to wait for it to show up in stores along side the treo650 so I can play with them to my hearts content. Though I must say if the 6600 does support evdo, there's a good shot I'll be getting it.

Would you still get it if Sprints Ev-DO charges were similar to Verizons? Verizon charges $80 a month for Ev-Do. Sprint will already charge you more for regular vison since you have a PPC device.

I am exited about Ev-do as well and I may get a PPC but my main concern will be how much sprint will charge... its hard to give up my $10 unlimited vision

It's hard saying since I haven't seen any offical word on how sprint is going to handle their evdo implementation.

Man, this driving inquiring minds like mine crazy.....

I am seriously looking at getting this phone but have asked several reps about the details about EVDO.....with a bunch of blank stares in return.
