All the more power to you. I can't resist the pull.

    Gameboy,

its good to see you posting again. I often wonder where you disappeared to. IO wasn't sure if you still had a Handspring device.

But I am looking forward to hearing about the new Treo, and TC is the first and only place I'll likely be looking.
My life is in my Treo... Where is yours?

Of course it is. Without wireless service it is just a PDA /

Great to seen some names and avatars that have been missing for a while. Been here since before Neo & such.

Still using the original Platinum that I bought then, but it is starting to get a little long in the tooth. When I do upgrade, I am sure that my Handspring will not be retired.

With a Thinmodem and a Stowaway, this will probably still be my email/web machine when on the road. I don't travel enough to justify anything ireless (like a Treo,) and the GSM options just simply are not all that abundent in Nebraska. Give me a cable that hooks me up to my trusty StarTac and I can get the wireless that I need.

To tell the truth, really what I am looking for in an upgrade is color & hi-res. Thanks to HS and Handera, the idea of expanded storage are now commonplace in the PDA market. The Tungsten|T is pretty close to what I want in a PDA, just wish it had a virtual graffiti under the slider - best of both worlds.

I've been here awhile, but post less frequently about Visor-related things. Mostly spend my time at VC aggravating folks who are having earnest debates about world politics.

Rewarded myself with a Visor Deluxe (black) after winning my biggest trial to date in 2000.
Rewarded myself with a Visor Prism after introducing my Deluxe to the tile floor
Rewarded myself with a Tungsten T last November

I still check in here once in a while, although I have to admit, the frequency is down from my two/three/four times a day habit a couple of years ago, when the posts were flying fast and furious.

As I alluded to a few months ago, I jumped to a Tungsten|T back in February, when the price came down and I had a 10% off coupon at Best Buy. I've been very happy with the size and speed of the T|T, and while the screen on the T|T is one of the better color Palm screens I've seen, sometimes I do miss my old Prism's blinding color screen.

I was very tempted to wait just a little longer and see what Sony and Palm would come up with during the spring/summer...so far, I'm not impressed. The Tungsten|W/C are worthy additions to the line, but not really what I'm looking for. And the newer Sonys...yeech. Industrial design is one thing, but their new one (the 50, I think) looks like a block of soap. And, just for the record, I don't like thumbboards, nor do I like the idea of a 320X320 screen mostly obscured by a pop-up handwriting window. So, for the moment, I'm satisfied with my T|T. (...for the moment...)

I'm not really into the whole Smartphone deal - I'm not saying they're not cool, or that they don't have their place in the market, but (and I've said this before as an indictment of Handspring) not EVERY PDA user wants an integrated phone/pda. I'm happy with the phone I have. Why would I want to pay for another one (and possibly have to change carriers!)? If Handspring's fantastic Fall rollout is anything other than a Treo, I'd be shocked, but I'd also be interested in what the company could do next again. (Also, beefing up their support of MacOS X couldn't hurt...)

Since everyone's posting theirs...MY PDA HISTORY...

    1991 - 1996: Casio BOSS (various models)
    1996 - 1998: Sharp Wizard 256KB (although I was THIS far from buying a Pilot 1000/5000 instead!)
1998: hard copy Dilbert Day Runner (the horror!)
    1998 - 2000: Palm III
    2000 - 2003: Visor Prism
    2003 - : Palm Tungsten|T
    What do you think, Sirs?

    I'm still here too

After my Vdx I switched to the Diamond Mako (Psion clone).
Finally convinced my wife a PDA is usefull so she is using it on a 'trial basis'
I'm still using my Nr70V... Wish I had waited for the NX70V though.. but for now the NR does what it needs to do..

In the future I'll probably upgrade to the Garmin PDA/GPS combo..

This was the first message board I ever used and I miss it. However, I no longer use my Visor Deluxe and have converted to Sony Clie (still the N760). This board was so helpful when I first discovered the world of PDA's. No other board is quite as helpful and friendly.
  10. #30
I used to check this board a few times a day. Now I sometimes go over a week without reading through the new posts that I find interesting. I lurked on the board for a few months before finally registering in hopes of winning prizes in the countdown to Christmas 2000. Long before that, I read about the Handspring in Newsweek and coveted it until I finally purchased one in the fall of 2000.

I'm using my second Prism which I hope to last for another year or so before I start to seriously look at a replacement.

I have been an NR70V user since August of last year (and thus haven't been here since then really). I am in my second semester of my freshmen year of college. Let see, online I am residing mostly on Cliesource as well as the Undead Thread there (now at other places). Life is good. I am going to meet the Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert on Saturday and I was on one of the local news broadcasts last night.

My Visor is currently living its second year of existance with a coworker.
Did you just go near a burning hot river of lava or are you just happy to see me?

Well, we seem to be the oldest forum members in this thread...

I still have my Visor Prism but my main PDA is now my BlackBerry -- gotta have corporate e-mail. Would like to buy new Palm OS PDA but needs to support my corporate e-mail solution. Tungsten C looks pretty good though.

Sprint Business Connect with a Treo 300 works well (for me).

Hi there...I consider myself kinda an oldy...I know there was a time when everyone knew me, and everyone went up against me regarding George W. Bush...ah, the good ol' days...

I'm still using my T615c and living with it...my dad has a SJ33 because he recently broke his Blue VDX, and my mom is still happy with her Blue VDX

I see terrysalmi is still pro-bush. ah, well.

I've been insane-busy with grad school, so my frequency has been cut *way* down. I also got converted to the cult of mac, and the rumor-cycle with those folks is intense these days (or probably all days).

....also, my brand new halogen desk lamp fell on my wife's treo and melted it. I gave her my 270. the old 180 held out for a couple months (!) before finally dying a slow death of hard resets (Edge, anyone?)

so now I'm PDA-less. I bought a cheap Ericsson r520m (with bluetooth) to sync with my powerbook, and I hope that the T|T prices come down soon so I can get one of those, too.

I send pics of the melted treo to Marcus and Miradu, but I guess they didn't

    Hey folks!

I got notification of this reunion a little late. Is there any dip left?

I'm doing well with my now well-broken-in T|T, and a 10 month old baby girl.

I think there was a 2 hour documentary on bblue on CourtTV late last year....

I'm Hoping that a transflective, WiFi, T|T upgrade is around the corner.
That IS a Palm III form-factor in my pocket, AND I'm happy to see you.

... lurking with my Kyocera 7135. I should've kept the Visor Deluxe demo unit for nostalgia, but no regrets. A toast to Visor Platinum and a triste to the Edge. Vive le Yardie, and if you're reading...shout outs to those voted off the island.

I'm still around, but I mainly hang out at PIC and Pocketpcthoughts....occasionally Brighthand. PDABuzz was my PRIMARY haunt, until the "incident". The site has since imploded.

As for why I don't hang out at VisorCentral....well that should be obvious. Visor is dead....no need for discussion.

Current mobile gear: Zire 71, Dell Axim.
