    Hey,

Has anyone seen this device? I was in my local Old Navy and they have it on display and it is only $12.50. I went to their web site at www.mini-pda.com and took a look at it. It is a pretty cool little device. It can sync to the desktop via the monitor or led's on the keyboard. I found that weird. If anyone wants to take a look go to the website.

My kids got these or something very much like it last year for Christmas, and they are really cute, but not real functional. Neither has used theirs since getting it, so I don't remember what the problems were real well, but accessing a given note or editing info was a nuisance.

They DO do a couple games, and the uploading is awfully cool!

There's a review by the Gadgeteer:

More or less the same conclusion you've found...

I had a timex watch that did the same thing, it was pretty cool and it worked ok...

(actually I still have the watch but lost a few springs when I opened it to replace the batteries )

Where I work, we have several clients who need reminders and cues throughout the day to overcome memory or other cognative problems, and we often use the Timex DataLink (??) watches to help. They sync very much like the Mini-PDA, and have a lot of limitations as well, but are great for wearable reminders with multiple alarms and messages with each alarm.

I don't recall how loud the alarm is on the mini-PDA, but I seem to recall that it was pretty decent. It might do that role OK for some people. The watch is harder to misplace and has a better interface, however.

    Hey,

Just read the article and it will never beat my prism but now I have something to buy my sister for christmas!!! The price quoted on the review is rediculous I think $12.50 is worth it. I also remember the timex watch it was called the data link. However, it synced via flashing lines on the monitor not through the keyboard led's. I am really looking at the fossil palm pda watch (the real pda watch not the one that syncs with a palm), I just hope that the form factor is nice.
    Cheers
