I'll admit I was one of those posting negative reviews.

I can't speak for its everyday use or things that are lacking. I will say I thought the hardware looked good, it was a tad heavier than I thought but very solid. And even the imitation of webOS cards they employed left you with something far superior to trying to do the same thing on say a Galaxy Tab (which I also examined at the same time).

I'm still holding out for a touchpad (in part because I couldn't afford any of them right this minute) and will certainly give it the benefit of the doubt. But I have to admit my slant from a few minutes messing around with the playbook was a lot better than my opinion only based on reviews.
