    btw i have 2.17 GB for media.tar.gz
and i saw no error in lvm-resize
  7. #47
btw: 2.17 GB is ok i ask because is need size for archive and size for unarchived <= size your media partition

    edit:
you end on wiki on media restore ? or you restore latter after succes booted into SHR ?
  8. #48
You seem to have problems with your media partition, on the Doctor I see trouble when deleting the .palm directory, you should try the steps from the "Doctor stops at 8%" from the How to Recover Wiki Page from webOS Internals, it should wipe your partition and you can doctor again.

After that, you can try the media restore again.

Ok WebOs Doctor worked after I tried to use again "make media-restore".

Now I have my WebOs back again ...
    phew !!

Btw for everyone going to try this on their Pre2 I suggest to use the "Manual Installation" and not the Automatic one for SHR. Coz the backup part is a little mess :/ I think.

k3dar the strange thing is that at the end of the procedure I got an error running the command :
    "make flash-image"
Saying there wasn't enought space while novaterm put the full-palmpre2.tar.gz ...

Pheraps 15.5G in the makefile is wrong ??

Why did you go so cheap with the media partition?

I would had gone with 1Gb for SHR

Now that I notice ... is it correct for the FAT32 partition to be 14.3GB after a WebOs Doctor ?

palmpre2.tar.gz is 80MB (with unpacked is ca 300MB)... what is size of media partition on Pre2 ?

    edit:
    is fso partition present ?
    lvdisplay /dev/store/fso
if no, then maybe is 13.8GB in Makefile better as minimum

:/ This is the outcome with 12.0G

    Code:
    dragon@VUbuntu:/media/sf_Shared$ make lvm-resize
    Unmounting partitions ...
     Unmounting /tmp/var
     Unmounting /tmp/root
     Unmounting /tmp/media
     Unmounting /tmp/boot
    Unmounting FSO partition ...
Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
Found volume group "store" using metadata type lvm2
9 logical volume(s) in volume group "store" now active
Now we are resizing lvm partition to get some space for FSO/SHR ...

I have the same problem even if I try to move the file in Novaterm ...

    Code:
    Palm Pre:/media/internal# mv full-palmpre2.tar.gz /
mv: write error: No space left on device
