I just watched Engadget's live coverage of Sony's event. I am very excited!

I just posted in the "Future Palm Devices" sub-forum about this and my thoughts behind it: http://cl.ly/4EJj

    I suspect they'll be merged soon. ^_^

What other choice did they have?

I checked this out as well; I am bummed that they are only bringing this to Android, but I think that this is really neat. I think there is huge potential. Sony could be on top of the next big break in the mobile space.

They needed a big platform to go head to head with Xbox on wp7...now all Android needs is a good media player. I would like to have a downloadable Zune player. Hey, MS if wp7 doesn't do well in the future can you port your Zune player software in the Android market? a guy can dream can't he?

Have your tried any of these:

10 Best Multimedia and Entertainment Android Apps
10 Free Android Media Player Apps You Should Have
What's the Best Rated Android Media Player?

    What features are they missing?

I have to agree with Gizmodo that:
DoubleTwist's Android App Looks Like the Best Media Player Yet

DoubleTwist has a ton of features including the fact that it lets you rip a movie out of a DVD and automatically package it up for the road.

Although I really like TuneWiki as well.

It is hard to watch much video on the Pre but not bad if the resolution is trippled like many of the Androids.

Conjecture about future Palm devices should be in that forum. This is cross-platform about non-Palm products that are being announced on other platforms.
