so ive been really into android but i must admit i love the Pre and the Pre 2 looks even better and ive been thinking about how to have the best of both worlds and thats when i came across this:
Android port for OMAP3 processor opens door to Android-powered Palm Pre!

this is just and example of many articles, but then i realized the new palm Pre 2 will have lots in common with the new Droid Pro.

    heres some spects:
Palm Pre 2: Palm Pre 2 Specs | Technical Specifications | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of Smartphone, PDA, PDA Phone, PNA, netbook & Mobile Device Specifications
Droid Pro: Motorola DROID Pro XT610 Specs | Technical Specifications | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of Smartphone, PDA, PDA Phone, PNA, netbook & Mobile Device Specifications

so what do you think? Android on Pre 2?

Why ditch an elegant OS for Android?

That article is over 18 months old, and we've heard no progress.

Porting operating systems (even open source ones) to new hardware is three orders of magnitude harder than most people realise.

I could understand porting webos to better hardware but why port and inferior OS to less desirable hardware.
