    Hi All,

This is such a broad question I thought here might be the right place to ask it. We used to have a custom app on the Zire and Tungsten models and we used the "Universal Connector" and a serial cable to connect to our little external device. Then communicating at 19200 baud we could send messages back and forth and adjust settings on our device. My question is if this type of serial communication is available on modern smart phones? Specifically iOS, Blackberry, Android, WebOS. They all have USB ports but are serial comms available to the developers? My googling has led me to believe at least it is a no on the ipone.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated,
    Kerrie

Once Bluetooth support Serial Port Profile (SPP) is enabled in webOS2.0 and with a bluetooth serial adapter you should be good to go.
