Where's the option for "any cheep flip phone"? Yup, the Pre is the only smartphone that is worthwhile paying a data plan for. By the way, I have a Clie TH55 and am frequently at places where WIFI is available.

I was all set to get a Blackberry (probably just a Curve) until i went into the Sprint store that late June day and started playing with the Pre.

If I hadn't chanced into the Pre that day, I'd probably have that Blackberry right now.

If I were forced to choose ANY phone other than the Pre right now without regard for carrier, it might be Droid. Only because I like the screen size and physical keyboard.

I'd go Droid or Nexus One. Probably Nexus One as I hate the Droid's keyboard and it's weight. The thing is like a brick.

Or, in a few days, I'd get an HTC HD2.

If Sprint was coming out with an Android slider, then I'd stay on Sprint (with my 700p still activated). If not, I might have gone with a Droid with Verizon.

    Assuming carriers are a non-issue, I'd get a Nexus 1, I guess.

EDIT: I can't believe I said that since it has no physical keyboard.
    * Stuck patches? Partial erase worked for me.
    * Stuck virtual keyboard? Partial erase AND folder deletion worked for me.

None of those. I'd be plugging along on a Purple Instinct.

It IS a brick - by weight and by-dimension! I don't know why more people aren't bothered by this.

I loved my Centro but I'd probably spring for a Droid. The screen is beautiful and the phone is great. And as much as I hate paying more for (almost) no reason, The Network is pretty sick.

Even though it felt kinda rough around the edges the motorola droid my friend has is pretty nice. I wasn't a fan of the keyboards buttons but the landscape keys and screen and OS feel was pretty good. But in reality Id probably wait for a sprint version like the moto droid on VZW because I would never go back to VZW.

There's no option for my response, but if I didn't have a Pre (+) I'd still be using my 755p ...and happily so I might add.
In love with my launch day Pre Plus! Here are my impressions thus far.
