When the treo was announced, I went: this it the PDA I want...

Now with mikedemo's talk and pics I'm really starting to go towards the Clie NR70V....

The treo is WAY overpriced here, but the NR70V is not for sale at all over here

Mikedemo made me seriously doubt about a new PDA while my old one still works perfectly....Been thinking about the NR70V for days now...

I guess I'll just have to wait till the Treo 270 and than compare and decide.. made up my mind that after 3 black/white PDA, I should take the big step towards color..

The treo would be nice. I want to have a reason to buy a new pda, but my handera has made it a point do everything I need with class. It's like the ugly girl who dances well (using dancing as a euphemism for sex, of course). Maybe I'll just buy a new one.

Any ideas how long Sprint's chokehold on the CDMA treo is to last? They ain't got themselves a store 'round these parts.

DR - I'm in the same boat. I had a Handera for a while, then gave it up, too tired of the incompatabilities, however 6 mos later I'm back to it. It seems like the software is more compatable, and buying palm III accesories for it are so cheap. I spent $8.00 on a keyboard, $7.00 on the happy hacking portable cradle, it may be the ugly duckling of the bunch, but it rocks for functionality.

Plus I drive by Handera's HQ's on my daily commute, and I like to support the local boys...and no I haven't seen or heard anything about a color model yet....don't we wish.

For now, the Handera's the ticket, but man that color screen on my Audiovox is nice...

    Toolkit,

Glad to be of service. Don't worry, I have a few co-workers chasing me down too. So far 3 people here at work bought a NR70V after seeing mine in action.

    BTW:

Read my new thread and dam me more.

Resist, I don't know about you, but I feel that Sony is pushing the Palm OS to the limit of its abilities. What for OS 5 or go with another OS such as Embedix or Pocket PC. At least you can play the media files in their native format.

That's just it. I'm wanting something exciting, but nothing does what I've come to expect. And it's getting better. Tapliner's next version will support downloads to an MMC/SD card (if the developer wasn't blowing smoke up my @ss), almost everything I use has hi-res support (excepting AvantGo - which is still very useable), the virtual keyboard in addition to graffiti is handier than I expected - especially considering I've been 'graffiti-ing' since the PalmPilot Pro days, the li-ion battery is absolutely incredible (never a notch off it - what the hell kind of charge does this thing hold?!), full screen books have almost become a necessity, the backlight...the damn fine backlight...the incredibly readable and easy-on-the-eyes backlight, voice recording is not something I would pay extra for - but gets used all the time because it's there and makes sence, and not needing a "better way" to display apps is really nice. It's no nonsence, no bullsh!t attitude makes it a hard sell, but I've turned around 45 miles out of town because I didn't think I had it (damn thing was under the seat) - I wouldn't have done that for any of my previous pda's.

dr - have you had any luck getting DataViz to put apps & docs on the cards? I thought that the 330 supported VFS...but maybe not?
