Yes, the Sony Clie T615C, the English version of the Japanese T600C, is available... but only in Hong Kong and Singapore . No indication yet as to when it makes it to North America.

For details, see this PalmInfoCenter.com article.

Precisely. Sony might whet one's appetite a bit by releasing to Singapore and Hong Kong a couple of weeks earlier, but not long enough for a gray market to spring up, shipping them to the US.

In the fullness of time (i.e., within a month.)

That's it -- that one there, that's mine. Other than making sure I buy it locally so that I can return it due to Sony manufacturing problems -- that's my baby.

Come on Handspring we need an upgraded color unit now - I said I'd wait for a color unit with more onboard memory hi res screen and it looks like it's here - the only thing missing is the virtual grafitti. Can Handera be far behind?

They didn't introduce it at CES. The one on display was in a Memory Stick booth, which was all of the different manuracturers that support memory sticks showing what they could do. It was a Japanese T615 under a plexiglass container simply being shown as yet another application for a memory stick.

I bet they bring that baby to the states in another 2 or 3 months. and if the screen is at least as good or better than my 710, I may have the replacement for my 710 sooner than I ever expected.

*710c slaps me in the face

I sorry baby, I still love you, but the T-600 series has a figure (form factor) that I can't resisit.

*ducks memorystick thrown at my face

Look for now you are still #1 to me

Again, I think the color screen comparison between the N710 and the T615 can be considered different, not better or worse (from what I've seen from screen captures on the web).

If you're big on showing photos, then the paler, less red-intensive T615 may be a disappointment compared to the N710C's. On the other hand, images seem sharper and crisper -- better contrast -- on the T615C. Text looked particularly better to me.

For my purposes, it's T615 all the way.

    Ditto!

Either that or I hope the spurious Edge resets I've been seeing recently are just a part of the Edge's "character".

I just got my wife an Edge 2 weeks ago....so far the only time she had fatal errors is after installing an older version of MemoPlus that I used to run on my now dead VDX......once I removed that, the Edge hasn't crashed.

I kinda feel like people are giving the Edge a hard time regarding this.....I've never found it unusual for a Palm device to crash now and then when using 3rd party software. Most of them access the OS in the wrong way than was intended (either due to bad coding or on purpose to achieve a special result).....alot of software when run on the Emulator will show you exactly when it is doing something Palm says it shouldn't.....and for the most part I think it's ok...but now and then it causes a problem.

    IMHO

    Give it time.

I never had my Vdx crash in the year that I had it, reguardless of what I put on it. For the 6 months that I've had the Edge, I've generally been crash free. The one time I did find a software related crash (an incompatibility between Gridlock and GNU Keyring), I stopped using one of the apps and didn't have any problems since then.

Until now, that is. In the past three weeks I've powered it up to a blank screen (thus requiring a soft reset) and powered up to a soft reset screen a total of 4 times. I haven't added any software to the machine in over three months, I keep the batteries charged, and I never use hacks.
