    I don't know if it's "illegal" but the USB standards group agreed that Palm is violating the rules. I'm not an expert on any of this, but I do believe that Palm could lose their vendor ID if they continue to violate the rules.

    Does palm really need iToons?
    Does Apple think that if they allow Palm access it will really hurt Apple?

    To be honest, if Apple (or Palm) wants to be kids and play the cat and mouse game, I think the more professional approach would be to search for a vendor who needs recognition against iTunes; therefore change Apples tune.

    I'll ignore the upcoming MS 'Zune' phones or whatever the heck they end up calling them, and just go with the fact that MS is one of the most closed non-standards based, proprietary companies out there.
