There's are a couple of threads over in BrightHand.com's Clie Forum about rumors re: new high-end Sony Clie models.

    • N750C: This sounds decidely bogus -- someone's Clie wet dream: 66Mhz, 16MB RAM, 32bit color screen, and "Palm OS 4.5" to support the greater color depth. Yes, and a magic Memory Stick that (when inserted into your ***) grants you three wishes, too.
    • N760C: This one sounds potentially more real -- someone found it on an on-line retailers' web site under Sony PDAs as "to be released" (it has since been removed). Sounded like it would be a 710C with OS 4.0, and maybe a faster processor (45Mhz?).

In any case, I can't imagine that Sony would release a new model right after the 610C and the 320C were released, unless it is just a 710C with OS 4, and they decided to give it a different number.

    FYI...

    "Magic" Memory Stick wishes:

    1) I wish I hadn't stuck that Memory Stick in my ***.
    2) I wish I hadn't paid so much for 128 Megs of memory that's now stuck in my ***.
    3) I wish I could remember if rectal-memory supports VFS.

Is RM (Rectal-Memory) compatible with the SD-slot?

By the way, has Sony already patented MMSW (Magic Memory Stick Wishes)? Can we expect this feature for PalmOS 4.5?

That reminds me of one of the satirical Bill, the Galactic Hero novels.
The cyberspace honcho said that back in the old days, SF novels thought that people would enter cyberspace by a brain-computer interface worn on one's head.

But the power requirements were such that a lot of buffering was required between the interface and the tissues of the brain.

The resulting interface was sort of a cross between a USB jack and a suppository...

It has been confirmed as a hoax. I've been on various boards and they have confired that this is just a hoax. Besides why would they come out with those devices when Palm OS 5 is in the works. If anything Sony needs to prep for that.

Gives a whole new meaning to "Memplug"...
If it gets the SDIO, will it be able to use that, ahem, movement detector?
    ...I better stop there...

I figured the "OS 4.5/32-bit color" Clie was a hoax -- thanks for confirming. However, I'm still seeing notes about the 760C, where it's basically a 710C with OS 4.

I could reasonably believe that Sony might release the 710C with OS 4 and use a different model number.

PS Apologies for the anal memory stick humor. I had no idea it would take off quite so much...

Here in Germany i heard news that a new "N770C" should be the German version of the N7x0.
Basically a N710C with a German PalmOS 4.1 (supporting 16bit). I don't know about the hardware features (some people expect it to have a 45 or 66 Mhz processor), but obviously it will have the same features like the N710.

Perhaps the N750, N760, N770 or whatever are several European versions only.

For them to be 45 and 66 mhz wouldn't they all be overclocked, or has Motorola come out with a new DragonBall processor?

Here it is: Sony has announced the N770C at the IFA in Berlin.

Nothing new, except for a new OS. Sony uses PalmOS 4.0 or 4.1 (i don't know, Sony has released different news).
The N770C is basically a N710C, but with a German OS and 16bit support.
I think the N760 or N750 are the other European versions.

BTW, Sony Germany announced that OS 4.1 on the 770C was a mistake -- it will be OS 4.0.

    Sounds like the Sony PRPRPR $organization$ $could$ $use$ $some$ $organization$...
