okay --- so I have three lines, and have Treo's on all of them

I've been hearing all the BlackBerry hype, and the 8703e looked like a solid phone

apparently, no Sprint stores have them, but I managed to find one that had one left last night, over in Los ANgeles near the Beverly Center --- they were actually going to make it their demo model, but they were kind enough to sell it to me

anyhoo - I guess I wanted to brag that I found one - lol!

as of now, I like the form factor and keyboard more than the Treo 700 --- however, I'm missing my Treo's regular functions --- I'll be playing with this one for awhile and giving a review later

peace and love to you all!

It is going to take you a good week before you realize just how great it is.

Dont let the intital frustration prevent you from carrying the device for a few weeks. I can almost guarantee you dont go back.

Im interested to hear if they make you take the BB plan or not as well.

If they do, try dropping it AFTER provisioning.

the short answer is that you need a bb data plan to provision the phone, but many people have reported the ability to keep all of the email features, etc after dropping the bb plan and simply transitioning to a regular powervision plan.

6 months ago I would have said you chances would be great. Now, I am not sure.

You have a bb plan or a powervision plan. bb plan is roughly $45/mo. Powervision plans are $15 so if you get the bb to work on a pv plan than you save $30/mo.

    Step 1: cross your fingers.

call sprint and tell them that you do not need the bb plan and you would like to drop it and add a powervision plan.

It will either fly or it won't depending on who you talk to. You may want to try a couple of times if it doesn't work on the first call.

    good luck
