Launch date of 9/17/06 for the 8525.
The model number is 6925 for the Ipaq.
Also you forgot to mention the Nokia N62.
I think I will be buying a 3125. No 3G, but that isn't in my area for Cingular yet anyway.

I think you meant to say the Nokia E62, not N62.

I'maware of these other models. What the story I linked to was stating is that the two mentioned should be here by next week. I can't wait!

With the Tytn, or whatever the f HTC is calling it, released on Cingular. Does it mean Cingular is officially launching HSDAP?

The iPaq would have been competitive if it was released one year ago alone side the Apache/Wizard.

    I did mean E62, sorry.

As to Cingular officially launching HSDPA, I'm not sure. From my understanding it is simply a software enhancement on their end. If this is the case I would imagine all their UMTS towers would be equipped with this update.

It does have HSDPA and is PTT capable (software update).

    Next Phone:
Something from HTC because Palm sucks, so I want a Touch Pro, Touch HD, or a Treo Pro.

Holy moley. Here I am locked into a contract with T "we don't offer interesting phones" Mobile. Heavy sigh.

HSDPA was officially launched in December 2005 when they officially launched "Cingular 3G" (in available markets.) Anything from the Dec 2005 launch on was HSDPA 1.8, they did not deploy with UMTS only.
There were UMTS only networks in operation prior to Dec 2005 as part of the old AT&T 3G network from about 1-2 years before, but they took this down for a few months to upgrade it to HSDPA prior to the Dec 2005 launch.

The speculation/rumor is that Cingular is releasing new phones in September and the 8525 is one of them ('Mid September'.)
The Treo(s?) are believed to be at the 'end of the year' (Oct-Dec.)

This 8525 is the one I intend to get. I wanted an 8125 when it came out, but I wanted to wait for an HSDPA (3G) version which is what this is.

I always look forward to upgrading but I'm starting to rethink this one. I have an 8125 and the 8525 isn't much of an upgrade if HSDPA hasn't been rolled out in your area. Where I'm at HSDPA won't be rolled out until mid to late next year.

I would agree. I hear the 8525 (well the TyTn actually) is "faster" but otherwise I think it's not at all worth upgrading to unless you can take advantage of HSDPA.
In my case I've had UMTS or HSDPA in the SF Bay area for years now and I've been Jonesen for a PDA that can access it. That's why I did not get the 8125, I wanted to wait for 3G. But if we didn't have 3G here I'd likely save the money and get the 8125.
