The jack works ok with the included 4-pole earbuds/mic (get both Left & Right), but when I try using a 3-pole stereo adapter (for my 2.5mm earbuds), I have to pull the plug out a little to hear both Left & Right.

Anyone else have the same issue?

Yes... You answered your own question. It requires a 4-pole headset.

Is there a 2.5mm 3-pole to 1.75mm 4-pole adapter available? I would have thought that the bottom 2 poles would be the same regardless of whether it's a 3 or 4 pole connector. They visually look to be at the same position. I only want the audio out feature, not needing the mic.

Why do you need a 2.5mm adapter. I thought that the PPC-6700 used a 2.5mm and regular headphones were 3.5mm.

Thanks for the Seidio link. I wasn't aware that a unique adapter was available for the 6700.

The headphone adaptor for the Moto ROKR will also work. It is available from Cingular stores.
