Hello!!!!! I should be recieving my Cingular 8125 sometime next week, and I wanted to know what are some software/ application that I should have on the phone.

I would say smartskey is a must. I'm also liking spb plus. I'm a newbie so I'm still learning, but programs havd made an absolute difference to my acceptance.

smartskeys, pocket weather, memmaid, spb pocket plus, and the best browser, netfront 3.3 (it's a free trial only, but rumor has it 3.4 will be out soon. There are many great threads on all of this and more at xda-developers.com. I will never go back to palm, the 8125's great.

No, they won't reset your 8125. You'll see that the 8125 is much more stable than the POS Treo.

The 8125 is inifintelt more stable than the Treo 650. My 8125 has not reset once (knock on wood) since day one (2/17/06).

My 8125 has had about 3 unplanned soft resets since I got it. MUCH better than my Treo 650 which reset itself at least once per week.

    Now the bad news:
I have to soft-reset it myself at least once every 24-48 hours or the device starts running slow, or becomes unresponsive, or starts doing odd unexplained things.)

So ... life's not perfect yet. Perhaps the Palm OS would have these problems too if it didn't reset itself on it's own.

Still happy ... but quite disappointed in certain specific aspects of WM5.

I have yet to have to soft reset due to slugishness (and I've had it for about 3 months. The only time I've reset it is if I just installed r removed a program.

I attribute my "luck" to Smartskeys. It really "closes" programs not just hides them. You can set certain programs just to minimize, thereby expediting those (such as Calendar or Contacts; you choose) but everything else truly closes. That probably keeps more memory available than otherwise.
