Everything i have read so far about the ppc-6700 seems good. One thing I have not seen is any info about the volume or sound quality of the phone and with bluetooth. Does anyone know how the volume is compared to the Treo-650?

My Scala 500 sounds excellent on both. Whats better is on the 6700, it can be used to listen to music and movies.

BT 1.2 Sounds great here...much better than my old Treo 650.

bluetooth in general is much better than the 650. setting up was easier and the connection was more reliable with the 6700

Well just to follow up. I picked up a PPC-6700 and it has the same low volume problem with BlueTooth that my Treo 650 has.

BT volume on the 6700 sucks. The clarity and range are good, but there's no volume.

Agreed there is no difference btwn the BT volume on the 6700 and 650 both could be better. (owned both, sold 6700 and went back to the treo)

Now that the 650 has A2DP and AVRCP, it kills the 6700's BT performance.

UTStarcom (Audiovox) has admitted to me that the bluetooth volume on the 6700 is weak. They told me via email and phone that they have submitted a "bluetooth fix" to Verizon that Verizon has to approve. It is scheduled to come out the beginning of the 2nd quarter of 2006.

How I live with the 6700's low bluetooth volume:
First, I tried my Moto HS850 and H700 on the 6700, but the 6700 does not give them enough volume (these b/t devices worked great on my V710, Razr, Blackberry, and Treo700). These are great b/t devices, but do not get enough volume from the 6700.

Second, I remedied the low 6700 volume problem by buying Plantronics. The 510 is loud enough, but I bought and have been using the Plantronic 640 for about a month now and it is loud enough to use in a noisy environment. I use it some on the street in Downtown Charlotte and I can hear even as a city bus goes by. I think its because these Plantronics b/t have the earpieces that go into the ear.
