    No 3G

    No, doesn't excite me!

As best I can tell "3GPP release 97 compliant" doesn't mean the device is 3G

It seems to be taking an inordinate time to get compelling UMTS devices to market

Another one to add to the rogues gallery of "treo killers"

Yes, the lack of 3G is the main thing which makes this device unattractive. Also there seems to be a shortage of buttons, and 1.3 Mpixel doesn't really cut it any more.

In its favor, its the first device with WM5 and 128MB RAM, which is cool. Also its got an exposed keyboard AND a QVGA (not 240x240) screen, which is also unique for a WM5 device.

I must admit I'm buying such a device for it's use - not for it's character...
...but I agree with you - it should have had an antenna. Lets say telescopic about 0.5 meters long...

    Europeans hate antennas....

Nice Surur - but did you forget this device?

...and this devices differ quite a lot regarding thickness.

Proof: the buck ugly Nokia 6600 is the most popular here, if you got
one, you are seen as successful.

As your comparison shows, the problem with this solution is that the devices tend to get a bit long. Here's a real pic (P50, not P51):

Nice. Damn, that thing is stacked. I don't really care too much for it's anonymous looks(I like my phone to have character), though...
Why are ringtones always such a big issue? Don't people realize that they're obnoxious!? And why the Nintendo 'Wii'? What th-!?

Benq 51? Isn't the Benq 50 one of the longest running "when are they ever going to release this thing" stories around here? Like TWO years ago:

    http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4754.html

I wouldn't put much stock in this one.

BTW Shannon, interesting new avatar compared to the last one.

I would really like to get a Q (GSM version) and a Treo 700w (GSM Version). I am ticked that Verizon gets them first. But I am not going to switch carriers just so I can get criplled phones.

Is this really the Q? ...or maybe the Q is "if I want something at all"

I have not been a POS-addict for very long (since 1998), but I am starting to realize that if I want one top spec'ed device to follow my 650 the choise may be either WM or Symbian...

Besides that Palm seems to launch devices in the states - leaving us europeans waiting for approx 6 months

I think the only way that you can say any device even comes close to being a Treo-Killer is if it is going to be on all networks, CDMA and GSM. That right now is on of the biggest things the Treo has going for it right now. The fact that you can get a Treo on just about any network right now makes the Treo one of the best smartphones on the market, not to mention all the other amazing things it does. Just one mans opinion anyway...

The BenQ P50/51 was a great produce when they announced it a few years ago.
