The only mobile internet browser I have ever tried is Blazer on the treo, and I throught "because of what I read on treo central" that I was getting the best mobile browser possible. Man was I wrong, the sidekick 2 browser blows the treo 600 and 650 browser out the water. Infact the mobile version of treocentral even looks better on a sidekick.

The sidekick2 browser can even handle some pages that the treo cannot.

I have to admitt I blindly follow the advise of fellow treo central user, and I think I made a mistake,

What a dumb post. Nobody "lied". People like their treos here...this is treocentral.

Many people here prefer alternative browsers for their treo and post accordingly.

    People lied to you???? Sure.

    Clarence,

No one lied to you and nobody forced you to use Treo, you have choices and it seems like you have made yours. So please move on.

    Thanks

Take advice from experienced Treo users, but also think and experiment for yourself. I keep thinking Pocket IE would be the best mobile browser from what I saw. JMO though, same as everyone else has theirs.

Try Xiino on the Treo, some like that one. It looks good to me too.

HP has officially ruined it's own platform and kicked webOS loyalists and early TouchPad adopters to the curb. You think after you drop it like a hot potato and mention it made no money and is costing you money, anyone else wants it??? Way to go HP!!

And some people are fools to keep believing their hype. HP has shown they will throw webOS under the bus and people are still having faith in them??? News flash: if it's own company won't stand behind it, it's finished!

I think he's right about the Sidekick's browser being better than the Treo's. I was never happy with the Treo's browser, in fact, it is the main reason I switched to a WM device. Lady Treo has it right, Pocket IE is probably the best installed browser for mobile devices right now, though it certainly leaves gaping holes for improvement.

I do think that it should be expected at TreoCentral that people are more supportive of the Treo's abilities than would be more neutral sites. But the name should say it all, this a wonderful place for Treo users, that's who it is meant for. The rest of us have been, or still are, Treo users who have made other choices. We still are outnumbered here though, and that seems pretty fair given the focus of the site. It will change as the new Treo becomes available though...

i have Tried Xino, and it's speed is alot better then Blazer, but it still lacks the functionality of A WM browser or even the sidekick2 Browser

Let me tell you some point on the Sidekick Browser that Rock

Multitasking, mean you goto the browser goto a page, then you can actually leave the browse, "chat on yahoo Aol" send receive email etc, and the broswer will still be in the process of downloading your page "if it's it a large page". You also have a setting, that tells your sidekick generate a tone and vibration to let you know when you page is complete.

It have built in javascript support, it handlas frames, and ccs alot better, and it's cache functions like a real cache, while the treo will something redownload the same images within the same site.

Now the 650 screen is alot better, but the page lookes alot better on the Sidekick 2. and navagatein on the page is simplier "why does blazer even have that super thin scroll bar anywhat"

Your right no one flat out lied, but they did mis lead a little. I can show you post where people claim the treo browser is the best, and also post where people outline the error in other browser. Maybe I should have done better research.
But now that I have done the research I want to put a post out here for New or prosecptive Treo owners "if this post doesn't disappear LOL".

    Thanks

Even though the unlocked is double the price almost, I would rather use a K-Jam than a Sidekick.

Wow, if claiming that this product or that product is the best is a lie, there's an awful lot of liars out there.

Well, I don't anyone lied to you per se, but I agree that there are an awful lot of people on this website who rave about crappy software.

AOL commercials constantly tell me that they are simplye the BEST online service. Should I call the TV networks and tell them they are lying to me???

Get a friggin clue and learn to form your own opinions. If you like the sidekick...go get one, more power to you.

    Oh yeah....Merry Christmas!

Ever since I got the Qtek I have been enjoying Edge speeds on T-Mobile, and while it is not as blazingly fast as Verizon's EVDO I am paying $300 less per year for the data service...not a bad trade off at all! Unfortunately for some, the sidekick can't use edge...

    This thread is an abortion...

Anyway, comparing blazer to sidkick browsers is like comparing apples to oranges. Tmo Sidkick fyi use server end proxy to compress and format web pages for faster access. Sprint also uses proxy for blazer but it does not do the same compression and formating as Tmo...although various 3rd party proxies are available for those who want to do this...
