No reviewer of anything is objective. They are all going to judge whatever they are reviewing through the lens of their own experiance. BGR wasn't doing an comparison of the Hero to the Pre, "The Pre is cool but borderline useless" was just a side remark which does serve to illuminate his expectations of a smartphone. He seems to really like speed. It is interesting that he likes the iPhone and the BB though. They really are very different devices in most respects.
