Gesture Area on GNex port

saw this on phoenix international facebook page. I'm glad they have at least thought about the gesture area.

That is a very hopeful proof of concept.

Gestures and gesture area are hugely important to the feel of webOS, IMHO.

I never thought this would be too hard since I had wave launcher on my centro.

Now if phoenix or somebody could make some normal size phones with a physical keyboard and the latest processors and radios well be all set. Something for everybody.

It's great to see this working so much more smoothly (except for the card being swiped away. maybe that's for testing?) Too bad this will be GSM Galaxy Nexus only. Still, my next Nexus will be GSM, so I can come back to webOS then.

Excellent work guys, webOS just isn't the same without gestures.

As a recent comment on one of the git projects indicates, that hardware accelerated video is still much a work in progress, after the upgrades that have happened and are still happening in the rendering layers

Normal size up to a maximum of 4.0 inch and physical keyboard would be very appreciated!! Sure latest hardware specs would be too.

It improved quite a bit already if you ask me compared to the 1st video we saw. There's still a lot of work required, but progress is being made steadily

I just wish I would know more of the *nix workings in order to contribute to the progress.

Well samsung just announced a 4 inch version of the gs3 (gs3 Mini) so there is a little hope for folks who dont want big giant phones

Isn't gestures hard to use on a phone with touch hardware buttons when there is no separate zone for gestures? I can hardly get swipe tab changing working on my Samsung GSIIX because I'd usually hit one of the touch buttons instead.

yea, but its getting there. at least it runs.
give it time, all the hardware isn't working 100% yet, and as said as a response to my noting of no back gesture, rome wasn't built in a day.

I guess that's where the market is now... A 4" screen is "Mini."
