time to finally dual boot my win7 box I guess, and time to get the dual monitor card....
I love physical keyboards... but there is two devices that would make me consider a slab, one is something running a full version of Open webOS. The other is an iPhone!!!! HA HA just kidding (about the iPhone that is)...

You could just install Virtual Box and then install Ubuntu as a VM under win7.

I've been wanting to dual boot it, have one of my laptops dual booted, just haven't got around to it on this machine since I rarely use my office PC.

That is for Luna (which is still the most interesting part of webOS, but not webOS at all)

https://github.com/openwebos/build-webos <--- this is for Open webOS (or at least it seems... it should build full images).

Just saw this on the main page. This looks interesting. Does this run inside Ubuntu? Replace Ubuntu? Run like an application? Just curious. I'm not all familiar with building stuff in Linux. But the instructions look easy enough to follow. I may try this out down the road eventually. I already run Ubuntu as my main OS.

I run Ubuntu on an SD card from any machine that will boot from the card slot. Going to test this out later.

It runs in Ubuntu like a normal application

So whats the difference between running this and running the webOS SDK in an emulator?

cool, so could use seamless mode in virtualbox/ubuntu to have webOS "integrated" into my winblows machine?

Mhh, so when it says 'Note: Builds on 64-bit machines are not currently supported.' it really does mean it wont build on a ubuntu 64 vmware VM

but would it support a 32-bit OS running on 64-bit hardware?

I'm building it now, but the screenshots look like it's just running in ubuntu.

@geekpeter: So running Ubuntu in seamless mode, and OWO inside that (OS-ception!). I don't know if there's a "seamless" option for webOS itself.

I'm getting fatal build errors, so 64bit vm seems out.

Let us know if your 32bit ubuntu builds ok.

    I'll then install a 32 bit vm

well looks like I'll have to run a VM if I run it on my win7 box... it's 64 bit, every other computer is 32 in the house

Yes, it builds in a 32-bit VM on a 64-bit host.
