    Woot!

Let us know what you need from us. Happy to beta test, have an extra touchpad and veer sitting around. Since Rod asked us to hold off on donations for unreleased features, I'll hold off a little and as this gets nearer will do a generic donation to webos internals.

edit: went ahead and donated anyway. Thanks for your commitment and enthusiasm.

Not meaning to thread crap, but I was browsing the site with the CM9 stock browser running on my Touchpad, and *all* the sites listed work fine for me, including the video on the BBC Sport site. Fyi...

there was a mindbodyonline.com log into classroom page that did not work on the touchpad after 3.02 updated to 3.04 and so my friends were forced to sell theirs as that was their major use case. Op if you want I can DM you the logon and password.

page did not work also on kindle fire or chromium in linux card on touchpad.

it did work on ipad 2 and firefox running in linux card on touchpad. Devs said they only support firefox and safari and no mobile although ipad2 ran it fine.

The video problem might be related to that I haven't actually installed any video decoders into my system, so it's whatever Ubuntu came with stock. It might be related to the fact that we don't have a huge portion of Open webOS yet. It might be that that particular clip I picked just doesn't work with whatever decoding system I have. I don't know. Other than that, all the sites worked, though fixed elements aren't working. I have a feeling that I know exactly what the cause of that is (whichever part of the software handles scrolling natively scrolls the -entire- webkit frame, and doesn't deal at all with fixed elements .. which it should, and I'll file a bug on it) .. In any case, please send in anything that doesn't work in the stock webOS browser, so I can have a look at it, if you would?

As long as it doesn't use http authentication, I'm expecting that it will work unless there's some nefarious thing going on with browser or platform sniffing. Send me the info, and I'll have a look-see. If it does use http authentication, I haven't tried using http://user@password:sitename yet, i'm not even sure if that works in modern browsers at all, but the username/password entry box for http auth sites is currently not implemented in here (i'll file a bug for that too)

pm'd you. Reread your post and you will need to input username and password so perhaps save the info until that feature is implemented--I have to believe it is https because of those features although i havent' checked it since 3.05 first came out.

Yes, the HTTP authentication URL format works in modern browsers. It is actually http://user***@site/
    Did you know:

webOS ran on a Treo 800 during initial development.

Can you finally download files on password protected sites? i.e. does the browser pass cookies to the file downloader?

also, you are awesome. Not sure how difficult it would be, but can you a quick guide on how to build isis on ubuntu for someone competent but not a master at linux?
  8.    #28
Lacking all of the other service components, such as the Download service, I can't really check that.

To build, I followed all the instructions in the github readme, and although this is not the "correct" way to fix it to build, it worked:

    https://developer.palm.com/distribut...?f=120&t=19937

There's something not working in an earlier step in the build process, but I haven't the slightest idea how to fix it the correct way.

can someone fix that bug where the search box on this forum does not stay open unless you use the advanced search option?

ISIS working well is very very important now with msft announcing its own Surface consumer tablet line. OEMs need another choice. LG according to the Verge is exiting tablets.

On the Touchpad? Thats interesting because I just loaded that site on the Pre3 and looked at the video. Will check the TP sometime.

Here are samples of two kind of links that I've found don't open on my Touchpad.

    Certain links from emails: http://links.hp.com/u.d?c4GoTSwlcTSp...BA6A1E79F9DE66
    http://links.hp.com/u.d?DYGoS0QGBfyp...BA6A1E79F9DE66

Some product links from slickdeals: http://slickdeals.net/?sdtid=4773792...p_10153_12605_02871496000P

None of those links which start with "clickaweber" work on my touchpad and the ones where the email sender is using "constant contact" service to send them out; these may be one and the same but I am not sure. I believe the constant contact ones are tracked so the sender knows the response to the links. I am not sure if the links dont work ibecause I've installed a patch to block ads or not (max blocker) but I suspect not-- I may recall that I tried it once without maxblocker and still could not get through.

The HP links don't work for me in Chrome or in Opera on my desktop, must be some additional thing required to get there (or the server is down at the moment.. lol)

If you look at your post, as it came out, the first couple of slickdeals links there are broken, but i did copy/paste the large url under them, and that worked in Chrome, Opera, Isis, and webOS 3.0.5.

HP links do work for me on my Firefox browser. They just take longer to load. For slickdeals links, the whole URLs were the ones that I couldn't open with. They're just broken cos I posted with Communities.

if isis ever makes it to webos in the future i hope it copies everything that dolphin browser has. i could give a crap about the rest of android, but dolphin browser is amazing and just everything i could ever want in a tablet browser. if webos had something on par with dolphin i would not really have any reason to use android at all.

It might be the server was down. All of those links appear to work on my TouchPad already, and also in Isis (except of course the slickdeals links that go to the 404 page)

I updated my copy of Isis on Ubuntu the other day, so that it is consistent with the latest code drop (a couple of weeks behind the current WebKit head revision, as far as I can tell).
