Edit March 7th:
Hey folks, it seems we are a little farther off from webos internals being able to give us a browser preview than had been originally thought and no time estimate can now be given until the open source webOS roadmap is complete or at least substantially further along.
(Fortunately, the roadmap is due to be completed by end of August).

I appreciate the good intentions of the webos internals team in trying so hard for us as they have consistently been the first ones to give us
improvements (preware having been created in days when the pre first debuted; ubuntu within a week or two of the touchpad, numerous kernels and prompt updates in the wake of Palm updates.
I also appreciate their desire to not receive donations for efforts that have not been completed. I
therefore am donating my contribution in the name of Tailor which I used again today to help a friend resize his partition.
After some discussion, I have also removed the donation link from the bottom of this post, at their request (
see post here for Rod's request
forums.webosnation.com/webos-open-source-general-discussion/311865-isis-browser-donations-whos-me-3.html#post3306483)

I remain confident in their dedication to webOS and am sure they will surprise us with their efforts as HP continues to execute on its opensource roadmap.
For more information on the HP roadmap to open source webOS you can look at this blog below.
So far HP has met their deliverables.
HP webOS Developer Blog

mods: could you please change thread title to:

"A big thanks to webos internals for their work, who's with me?"

**
Original Note posted 2/15
Hey folks,

Read on the front page that it will take a few weeks for a Preware version for Isis on HP TouchPad and webOS internals is already onto it.

Sounds to me like a clarion call to donate to webos internals. I'd like to see us break $5K.

Who's with me on this??!!

donated, well worth it.

to note tho, im not sure how polished the first version will be, but people will no doubt expect lots from its first release, im hoping people will accept it for what it is first (new/faster/updated) and not slate it because it may be missing on version1 their most wanted feature, those id assume would appear over time.

even if its amazingly basic (but faster) im still gonan be happy and can wait for more feature packed goodness later.

Indeed, the key words here are "Technology Preview", not "Polished Product".

Understood.
Exciting that this is the first step.

Think we are up to at least $45 already.

If someone has ties to the webosnation folks, perhaps we can advocate for an community openwebos supporter badge for folks who donate $15 or more to the project?

In for 15! Maybe we'll even see Netflix support - but either way, I love any excuse to support webOS development! Wish I could program...

I don't drink Mountain Dew, but fuzzy navels or Merlot works just as well. Or root beer.
