easiest is to export as a .csv and import in to gmail. Then synch with gmail.

if you want ongoing synch with outlook, buy Pocket Mirror from chapura.com

one thing to note is that some fields in gmail do not perfectly match outlook fields. That is my understanding. So he may want to double check gmail when he's done. when transfering some contacts out of gmail i ran into a problem with the address field. i believe it is because gmail takes the address, city, state and zip and crams it in one field and sometimes other programs have difficulty reading. Now that may only be a problem when you're moving from gmail to some other program like i was. I think there are also some issues with birthday fields.

I too faced these problems, but don't know how to solve it! Now i don't use PC for calling. I Upload contact lists to my mobile phone and enjoy the smooth mobile based power dialer. All that features we want in a dialer I found 'My Sales Dialer'

I believe Chapura has a version of Pocket Mirror that has been updated for the TouchPad. Their product worked well with my Pre+. It only requires both machines be on the same wifi network, otherwise is actually a very nice system.
