Ok, now that WebOS is open-sourced, what features do we want?

    How about:
    1. Improved boot time/optimization?
    2. JVM (Opera, Android, etc.)
    3. Re-add support for Classic? Is the ROM.bin file allowed?
    4. Bring back TABS!
    KA1
    Visor Deluxe->Visor Prism/Digital Link->Treo 650->Treo 700p->Pre->GSM Unlocked Pre 2 (wifi only)->FrankenPre + Touchpad 32 ->+ Touchpad 4G ATT + ATT Pre3 + 64 White Touchpad... bliss.

proper bluetooth so im not embarassed when my mates want something "sent" to their phone.

touch to share for more than just the stock web browser.

everything else can filter in slowtime.

I second bluetooth file transfer. Rather silly that it's missing.
A virtual keyboard that comes standard, and doesn't have to be patched in.
IR back in, so I can use it as a remote control.

The Dalvik should be priority IMO, then I'd remove Android from my Touchpad.

more flexibility with syncing bluetooth devices (like gamepads)

    1. I can't wait to see what the community can do to clean up the base code.

    2. Getting it working on some new phone hardware. I can't wait to replace an andrioid or windows mobile phone with WebOS.

voice commands, so I can tell my phone to play music while in the car.

and release the Pre3 to all. But only through HP store since at&t probably won't sell them.

Yes, I think there's a lot of code inefficiences in webos 2/3 that @webosinternals group can optimize and make our touchpads, and phones really fly and do cool things. I think open sourcing it is really going to help @webosinternals. Imagine if preware *IS* integrated as part of the OS?

I second that Dalvik is FIRST priority. When Android apps run on WebOS, thats when REAL traction comes. People, developers and tweakers alike, will come to WebOS with a more open mind and heart.

Also, did somebody really say get rid of cards? Is that a joke? Cards is the entire OS.

I want a developer API that allows me to have the user grant permissions to my applications to be able to do various things that are just not allowed at the moment:

    Adjust volume
Blank or Unblank or Dim display
    Access the contacts database
    Access the call log database
    Access other databases as necessary
Probably lots of other things that I haven't thought of

I want to be able to get the Download Manager to download from secure websites, using the proper access tokens.

I want the DownloadManager to not cause a massive hitch in the OS every time it reports progress back to the application that started the download (especially noticeable if you have 2 large file DLs at once, either via App Catalog or via some other app that can download stuff, such as my upcoming Subsonic Media Streamer app)

I want to be able to not only detect presses of the volume buttons in my app (i can already do this), but also have it -not- adjust the system volume at the same time (or do so, if I wish).

These are my immediate needs for the apps I have in progress.
