Default screen captures with Classic

Does anyone know of a way to do a screen capture without using the "Sym" key?

Under Classic, this key causes the popup box that says "Alt Key, This key allows you to enter symbols and accents ..". Etc, to obscure a large portion of the screen.

press P + Orange + Sym – try this particular order, so that you don’t get pop-ups in Classic

That did not work - still get the popup message, and it doesn't even save the screen captuer.

I have figured out a workaround of sorts, however, - - if I reduce Classic to "card view" I can do a screen capture and then enlarge until the card is the same size as a normal screen. Not as clear, but it works.
