Classic Hotsync & Outlook

Ever since doing a hotsync with Classic, I now have duplicate items in my calendar in outlook. I have events that sync between outlook and the Pre, plus events now that are duplicate with the Classic Hotsync. Is there a way to fix this so that the events do not get duplicated from a Classic Hotsync? I think these are mostly events that someone sent to me that I am attending. Maybe Classic doesn't handle these with event organizers well?
