I was about to say she died the year before last but I guess you're right. She did die last year. They also missed Ricardo Montalban.

Not everyone is mentioned -- but those 2 should have been included if only because they were well known and very popular amongst the audience.

Their actual film careers though, were not significant (ie Burning Bed, Wrath of Kahn ...)

Brittany Murphy died far younger, but her career had more substance to it.

Although she was in some movies, most of her career was in TV. I don't believe she was in any good movies except for Extremities. The same for Ricardo Montalban. It also may make a difference if you were a member of the Motion Picture Academy.

Michael Jackson - Roy Disney - Farrah Fawcett

I can list several major accomplishements/flaws of the first two, but I am drawing a blank on Ms. Fawcett....

Charlies Angels/Pinups aren't enough, I wager, to sway the Academy.

Actually, Ricardo Montalban had a career dating back to the 40's. In my opinion, he got the shaft.

Assuming you're referring to my post, I believe it was on topic. The argument against remembering Farah Fawcett was that she didn't have much of a film career. If that's true, why did they remember Michael Jackson? I don't think the Thriller video counts.

I didn't watch it, so maybe I should have stayed quiet.

If I were a member of the Academy, I'd have been swayed by her pinup.

In the 70's, that was prolly the most sought after poster at the county fair.

They showed such a wide range of celebs and film makers/writers/directors I really think it's sad she wasn't mentioned.

It had to have been just a misfortunate oversight.

I wasn't as much for Farah as I was for Kelly Garrett.

Also, my sweets were for Mary-Ann rather than Ginger.

It is the best selling poster of all time, still!

Yet I like this one better now
