The reason I asked is to see if they will they match your donation. See if you could weasel a little more money out of them.

I am going to try to head over to the Astrodome if they need volunteers this weekend for whatever purpose. For those of you that don't know, it is going to be turned into a shelter for those displaced by the storm.

Sweet. Post the results here and we will add it to total yet with an asterisk, to denote outside donations.

    Email response from Pfizer:

We are currently working on a communication to Pfizer colleague
regarding ways in which they can contribute to the relief effort.

For those who chose to do online contribution, we ask for a copy of the
confirmation receipt along with the attached form be forwarded to our
processing center either at Pfizer@easymatch.com or mail it to Pfizer
Foundation Matching Gifts Program, P.O. Box 2072, Princeton, NJ 08543.

The charities are The American Red Cross, Salvation Army and United Way
of American Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

    Hope this helps.

lets not make a contest out of it. I really was not trying to out do anyone. at this time I cannot afford more than the $100. but I certainly plan to follow up later with addtional $$. the need will continue LONG after the initial outpouring of help subsides.

I admire and respect you all for the help you are providing... even you republicans.

No need for one upsmanship. Everything counts. I also know that from previous disasters, places like Costco and other retailers often ask if you'd like to donate to a relief fund when you check out. No doubt I'll be donating for a while still.

We've already made a $1 million dollar donation to the Red Cross, not counting what will be doled out to help our employees who need food, shelter, or clothing to get them through this, so that's probably it for now at least.
    I'm back!

$100, matched by company. asking pharmaceutical reps to pitch in individually as well as corporately. I agree this should not be a contest or bragging on how much individuals put in but nice to see what we as a community can do.
