    I am starting this thread to remember our fallen soldiers in these wars that we are now involved with. We now stand at 1,847 or more deaths in Iraq.

    TASK FORCE LIBERTY SOLDIER KILLED

    TIKRIT, Iraq – A Task Force Liberty Soldier was killed when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near a combat patrol west of Tikrit at about 4:15 p.m. June 28.

    Two Soldiers were wounded in the attack and are being treated for non-life-threatening wounds at a Coalition Forces medical facility.

    The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

    The incident is under investigation.

    U.S. SOLDIER, IRAQI CHILDREN KILLED IN ATTACK

    BAGHDAD — A Task Force Baghdad Soldier died July 13 from wounds sustained during a car-bomb attack at 10:50 a.m. in east Baghdad.

    Three U.S. Soldiers were wounded in the attack, which also set a nearby house on fire.

    A number of Iraqi children died in the explosion and other Iraqi civilians were wounded.

    Iraqi Police and firefighters responded to the blaze and immediately began evacuating the wounded to nearby hospitals.

    At least two critically wounded children were evacuated by U.S. forces to a U.S. Army hospital.

    The Task Force Baghdad unit on the site reported that the vehicle, laden with explosives, drove up to a humvee before detonating. Many Iraqi civilians, mostly children, were around the humvee at the time of the blast.

    The incident is under investigation.
