I get your enthusiasm for the possiblity of the door being opened for more then one last book, but according to J.K. Rowling in the current issue of "Time Magazine" she is only writing the one last Potter book.

She says that will be the end.

Of course we shall see if that holds true, but it is what she said and she was quite clear and firm in that conviction as if she was looking forward to being done with the series.

I am looking forward to reading the last book, she has already started writing.
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag." -- Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, Sergeant, USMC

Matty, You are right, and I am very excited for the next book, so I will be content with what we have. I talked to some people today who are rereading them all and said that they are finding some new details in the first and second to help understand the 6th even more. I am I think I may dive back in again.

But you are aware of the fact that Rowling specifically stated that there will be no Harry Potter ebooks? Certainly not official ones within the realm of copyright protection...

There is no legitimate Harry Potter ebook, and also no way to buy one legitimately. Rowling has ruled that out for the current as well as for the past volumes. Not surprisingly, there are electronic versions around nonetheless, from the usual sources (so I've heard). Some of them are total fakes (products of Rowling wannabes), some are scanned versions of the real thing. I have compared some of the "real" editions to the original book, they seem to be ok, at least when only comparing a few samples, but there are also minor errors (some letters wrong).

I guess one can argue that you are allowed to read the book on the Treo if you also have the real book in your possession, too, but that would most likely depend on where you live.

Looking forward the new HP movie this month?
I have read all the HP books....and enjoyed them. We are going back to Hawaii this year, and it seems that each time we go, there is another HP releasing that week, so I am looking forward to carrying our HP Hawaii screening tradition!

*****Potential Spoiler Warning for last Harry Potter BOOK (HP 6)*****

Don't read if you don't want to know the end of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince ...

To those of you who have finished the last HP book:

I found the end a bit strange and my guess is the Dumbledore is not REALLY dead and will come back. If Snape really killed Dumbledore, this would mean that Dumbledore's belief in the good and his optimism was wrong, which would be quite a gloomy and pessimistic statement in my view. I doubt this is the path Rowling wants to take, even without considering that Dumbledore was one of the best characters in her books.

Besides, Harry seems far too weak to face Voldemort without the help of others, after all, he is no match even for ordinary wizards like Snape.

I can well imagine that it will turn out that Snape had to pretend to kill Dumbledore because it was the only way to protect his cover...

I believe that more likely that not Dumbledore is dead. But I am certain that his faith in Snape was not misplaced. It seems to me that Snape, Neville, and Ginny are all going to have key roles in bringing down He Who Must Not Be Named.

We will see. I would be willing to bet a few bucks that Dumbledore will be back in the last part. I also realised in the meanwhile that I am not alone with my theory, there are entire websites dedicated to it, with quite convincing (though circumstantial) evidence.

P.S.: It kind of reminds me of Lord of the Rings. I mourned the loss of Gandalf for at least two chapters before it dawned on me that he wasn't really dead.

I agree with Clulup on his theory also, and hope he is right. However, I am concerned that if I am wrong, I will be disappointed with the final book.
    Palm V-->Visor Deluxe-->Visor Prism-->Visorphone-->Treo 180-->Treo 600-->Treo 650 on Sprint-->Treo 700p-->Centro-->Diamond-->Pre-->HTC EVO 4g???!
