On the "lighter" side this Monday, this comes from the Fox 411, and sadly, it looks like Katie is going to pay the price for what some see as "being brainwashed." Though she does look really hot on that W cover.

Read on, and tell us what you think, and hey, vote!

Katie Holmes: 'War' Has Just Begun

Katie Holmes' interview in W magazine has set off a firestorm.

Reading it can only be even be more worrisome for her parents as they see the steady hold Tom Cruise and Scientology have taken of their beloved daughter.

There is no way to minimize the frightening aspect of the interview.

Holmes, who previously was a sweet, thoughtful, articulate young woman, now comes across like a zombie.

She's accompanied on the interview by Jessica Feshbach Rodriguez, her Scientology minder.

I was pretty shocked by Tom's remarks about Brooke shields too, they were very tactless IMHO...

Not sure about Katie's carreer (Tom is said to be very influential behind the hollywood scene) but I am worried about her life... real pitty, she came across as a nice person..

The thing I liked most about that article was the line, "The producers of 'Batman Begins' already have said she won't be back for the sequel.

A SEQUEL!! I was hoping for as much, but since they left off with the reference to the Joker I assumed that they would let it end where Tim Burton picked up. SWEET!!!

What about a "What career?" option? I wouldn't exactly put her in the upper echelon of actresses right now. She could disappear and I don't think most people would care.

I haven't seen Batman Begins yet but I have a real problem with the way the movie ended with the Joker reference. If this truly was a prequel to the other movies, than any reference to the Joker would be impossible.

    Why do you say that?

Also, sorry for spoiling the ending!

    How about adding:

"Was there ever really a career to begin with?"

    That's what I meant.

Leadtrumpetdave, you didn't spoil the ending, I had already heard about the Joker thing, my argument was that if this truly was a prequel, there could be no Joker foreshadowing because there was no Joker for the first half hour of the original movie.

It's money people, there will be a sequel to the prequel. . . . (IMHO)

hopefully the gossip sharks will give them a rest

how many find themselves truly crazy in love ? -- good luck to them how ever it happened.

yes scientology is more than a little creepy --- (and I've thought that since I first learned of it 30+ years ago.)

But almost every "devoutee" I've ever met has been intelligent and civilized (if not a little TOO evangelical).

All superstitutions (especially theistic superstitions with their dashboard jesuses and all) are kinda crazy.

For me Mel Gibson and his are ilk far more scary and threatening.

god, if we atheists ever went door to door bringing the Good News that there aint no god -- (never mind, too frightening to imagine ...)

Explain to me how if you're an Atheist you can start a sentence with the word "god"...That doesn't seem to fit.

I'm pretty sure Mel feels the same way about you and your ilk.

    ...is meant as semi-inflammatory irony.

and I agree that Mel and his many many Passionate friends feel that me and my ilk (we few) are doomed -- for eternity.

But suppose that Batman Begins were to "overlap" the first 30 minutes of the first Michael Keaton Batman. That still doesn't explain the mysterious change of wardrobe and having a new car suddenly, but that is at least how I thought of it. I actually kinda hope that the sequel does include the Joker. With as well-thought-out and "realistic" as Batman Begins was, I would certainly expect the Joker to be classic. But who would play him?

the exposure is damaging to cruise. holmes, not so much. i'm still not convinced by any of her roles that she's worthy of big parts yet, despite she's been given them.

in reference to who will play the joker, no Batman Begins was not a prequel, nor a tie-in to the other films. Saying this, the mistake of the other films was to get larger than life actors to play character oriented roles. Arnold was the worst of the bunch. Nicholson was great, but it was still all about him and less the story or character. This new film is a more 'authentic' Batman we've been delivered, and I hope they'll stick to it with someone that wants to play the Joker, and not themselves. Someone like Crispin Glover wouldn't try to hog the spotlight, but provide excellent character depth as well. I would readily accept an unknown if it was done well. What they did with the Scarecrow in "Begins" was terrific.
