As a person with bad sight, I find your avatar disturbing. Brain can't keep from trying to focus it.

I agree, internal conflict is the nr.1 cause of big empires to crumble and fall appart.

Also all the gung ho, lets nuke the rest of the world is only going to get you more isolated and more hated. Hate fueled by religion can be a very dangerous combi as we have seen.
Either you nuke the whole planet appart from the US and hold razzia's and kill every non WASP american or your plan will not work..
Better take away the hate and live in peacefull coexistance with the rest of the world..

Without a doubt the biggest threat to the US today are my WMDs....Man my bowel movements and flatulants are deadily and have been known to cause women to spontaneously miss-carry even when they arent even pregnant.

Sounds like what happens when I go and induce shock and awe I am now required to alert any and all friends in the vicinity before I initiate my toilet campaign

I think the biggest threat to any nation, and particularly the US, is one-party rule of all branches of the government. regardless of which party!

    You disagree, dlbrummels?

I think the biggest threat to USAToday is the loss of readers to Internet based news outlets...

Single biggest threat. Media outlets like CNN (Communist News Network), ABC, NBC, and all the other media whores who can't give a news report without some jab or opinionated twist.

The fact that the American public (majority) take the news at face value and that the news, at every step, loves to spread disallusionment about our success in Iraq, the opinion of the aggregate Iraqi population, and the defeatest non-sense.

I'd have to also say the European Union and the pointed attempt and view of most Europeans to turn American into the bumbling pussified mass that most of Europe has become. Peace Officers in the UK who have to turn in their pistols after duty makes me cringe. The fact that the UK government snatched up pistols and rifles from the citizens and destroyed them. Or "caliber limitations" forcing them to use .22 and .380 non-military rounds.

I also believe one of the threats is this lack of accountability and general acceptace for social deviants and counter-productive schools of thoughts. People who are traitors should be executed in plain sight. People who throw grendades into other soliders tents should be beaten to death with their own boots, and eviscerated.

I think the more Europe stays away from the US the better we'll be.

Kim du Toit wrote a nice essay on the "Pussification of the Western Male", you should google it and read it. If you're not angry not about the current state of events, you'll be a powderkeg of angst and hate after reading it. Nothing could be more true.

Why is it not the citizens job to differentiate between fact and opinion (plus isnt that sort of the conservative mantra, that one is not defined by their environment but always has choices)?

What is the most 'balanced' news station or show in your opinion?

Are the BBC and other international news stations reporting it any differently? It may be in the news stations best interest to present the worst simply for monetary reasons (cause it sells more papers.) BTW-whats the 'defeatest non-sense'. I think I know but I dont want to assume.

    That is pretty sad.

At least they have them. Didnt guns get removed from citizens in Australia?

Isnt this a little subjective? Who in your opinion should decide what is socially deviant and whats your definition of counter-productive when it comes to schools of thought?

No trial? Or after they are found guilty, then are publicly executed?

Fragging isnt new. It does seem to completely destroy morale though.

I sort of agree...but I would take it a step forward, If we stayed away from everyone else, the better we would (and could) be.
