    Toolkit,

I don’t know about UK, but sure know one or two things about the health care system here. I have seen enough working poor lost their life savings and homes due to sickness and mountain debt of medical bills. If you are luck working for good companies you might have excellent health insurance coverage. I am one of the thousands people working for good large company as contractor without any health insurance. Sure enough I am covered through my better half but every month, my husband still has to pay the premium in order to keep my coverage. You know what would happen if one is under tremendous stress while taking care of the sick family member and not able to work, lost of income and pill-up bills. Not only the working poor, living from pay check to pay check, even well to do people fall under because of sickness occur in the family.

Have some mercy. I did it out of pity for his wife and his daughter. A little help will go a long way even might save a life. Hope you and everyone else understand and put yourself in this fellow’s shoes.

I did my part, if you can why not. Some day one of us might be in the same shoes need help. If you don’t think that is proper, this will be the last on this.

Enjoy your life. No one knows what is ahead tomorrow.

I too hope things will turn around FAST for you.

Woof does bring up some very valid points. I hope that everything works out well with your wife, but I don't give $$ to situations like this because there are so many scammers out there. I think begging for $$ is a little over the top. If someone wants to donate, out the kindness of their heart, they could PM you and do it that way. I just don't like the begging thing myself.

    Good Luck,

look at her and tell me you wouldnt do everything in your power to help her....all im doing is asking my friends to help no need to jump down my back for it

sorry if the word 'begging' caused any grief clown, with my limite english vocab I dind't know a better word for it.. NOFI

If I was in your shoes I'd prob do the same thing, and I do feel for you. I do not have a problem with this thread at all. However the second thread was not neccesary.
Like treosixoo mentioned there are too many scams going around so I am naturally a bit cautions when I see a story like this. If it hadn't been clownracer I would have thought this to be a scam too..

I don't mind people helping you out, heck I think it is a very noble thing, but it might be a good idea to keep the asking for money to a minimum and let people give out of the goodness of their hearts themselves..

@greathome: In the UK healthcare is free and paid of your NI (National Insurance) tax deductions. Some people however choose to get private insurance to get better/faster service but it is not a neccesity.

It's easy to say what one would do when we are not in that person's shoes. I know that things can happen fast and unfortunately we are not always prepared for worst case scenario's.

A few years ago when we were in the hospital joyfully giving birth to our only son, without notice or warning he got deadly sick and could not be saved due to malpractice! We lost our son in what seemed like a twinkle of an eye.

The point is we were not prepared and had it not been for the kindness and caring of our friends, family, church, AND even strangers (who I believe were the hands of God) we would not have made it through. Although it was not a financial situation, it was devestating just the same.

So TC family, remember that everyone reacts differently in any given sitation, but show some grace and mercy and refrain from making a bad situation worst. We don't have to agree with what others do but we can choose higher ground.

Racer, put one foot in front of the other and know that all things are working together for His good. It may not be what you would have it be and it can seem like more than you can bear but He will NOT put more on you than what you can bear.

Take it from some one who has been in a place where no one wants to go; things do work out and they do get better, if we faint not and keep towards the goal.

    Woof,

I am sure you have excellent health coverage and hope you’ll never fall under. People work for small companies do not enjoy the protection and benefit you mentioned. As I wrote the one about to Toolkit, there are so many working poor in this country living from paycheck to paycheck. Health care in this country is not for everyone but kind of luxury who can afford it.

Quote from woof “Tell the kid the situation or give him then engine back.
And lastly, sell your treo. It doesn't sound like you can afford it anyway.”

If you were that kid, would you just take the engine back? I am sure the $1000 clown mentioned is not only for the engine but also for labor. I am sure he can sale everything he owns, better yet run away from the trouble, so he would not be in this situation. But Clown stands by his wife and family; ask for a little help so he can continue to care for his wife and daughter not losing everything he has to debt and medical bills.

Sorry if this seems harsh, it's not meant to be. I feel for your wife and hope she is better. She won't be denied medical care. Good luck.[/QUOTE] from woof.

I don’t know Clown personally, just read his early posts in happy times and resent hardship. I fell his pain so I did start a thread asking people to help out this fellow. Clown didn’t know about it. Sorry Clown if I’ve made it more difficult for you.

Hope everyone here wants to know if he is a scam or not, would take some time to investigate his situation. If he is in deed needed short-term help, why not extend you hand to this fellow, a little help will go a long way.

I used to feel warmly about this community and think people would be willing to help out a fellow member in hard time. Sadly, this is not the case. Clown, I will keep in touch with you through email and hope the best for your family.

Greathome, I think if you or anyone else want to help Clown out financially, that's great, go right ahead and donate. I just have a problem when people start begging for $$. I understand Clown is in a bad situation right now, but I think if he just kept everyone up to date on what's going on with his wife and DID NOT solicit $$ he would probably get more people to GIVE that way. Beseeching and talking about how many BILLS you have seems like (to me) would make people give less than more. That's just how I see it.

I really do feel for Clown & his family, but think this is the wrong way to go about things (IMO).

Clown...You're situation breaks my heart. To watch someone you love in pain is the hardest thing to ever have to experience. Please know, despite some others doubt, many of us are behind you and pray for you, your daughter and Kayon. It sickens me that you were forced to expose Kayon to prove your legitimacy...I'm so sorry.

GeekyMom...I delivered two daughters in the last trimester of pregnancy and lost them both within hours. I feel for you and and your loss, as I know from your posts that motherhood is your passion.

I think we all have to remember the frame of mind Clown must be in and the sleep deprivation and stress he is experiencing. He is trying o hold it together...that's all he can see. His priority is, and should be, taking care of HIS family. Please try to have compassion, you would want the same in his situation.

The Hippocratic oath also forbids abortion. Most physicians never take the oath and many have never even read it. However, it is against the law to refuse urgent medical care to a patient in need.

pro life vs pro choice is not the point of this thread

clownracer i do agree with the counter points...but I do believe you are an honest man..in fact i know you are an honest man..as no one who is normal, sane, and sensible would use this to scam people out of money...oh wait...Nigerian Scams LOL

but yeah clownracer, i believe you
  12. #73
The Hippocratic oath that you invoked; is that the point of the thread?
  13. #74
um okay...my reply was in relation into fears of his wife being ousted from the hospital for fees...now you have taken it on a sidetrack taking one idea and attempting to blossom it into a mushroom cloud

and the point of this thread is a "blog" of the progress of clownracer's wife and family
  14. #75
I understand. And I have followed the thread, and I have prayed for his wife as he has asked us to do. I only responded to your post about the oath in order to add some information that most people do not know; specifically, that the oath plays no role in modern medicine. Let's all pray for Clown's wife and those who wish to contribute, let them do that as well.

Clownracer did you call me a name? woof **** makes me wonder. Very mature. (mods is this allowed?)

It seems you are focusing way to much on the bills. Who cares who's paying them? Worry about your wife. Deal with the bills when the time comes. It's not like they are coming up to you each time you visit and asking for a payment.

No one is going to deny your wife medical care. It's against the law to do so. And they are certainly not going to boot her out of hospital once she is there.

And just to add perspective so you know I understand where you are coming from, I have a daughter in the intensive care unit in one of our local hospitals that has been there since she was born on April 4th. I will be faced with a bill of several hundred thousand dollars when it's all said and done. It will be like 3 months total time. Do you think I give one iota of thought to the bill? Nope, I want my daughter home so I can hold her. Who gives a crap about the bill. Dealing with that will come later. Things have a way of working themselves out.

This just came to me. Maybe since you are so worried about money you should hope she gets kicked out. Then the lawyers would be lining up to take your case against the hospital, which you would surely win and then you'd have millions. Course she would probably have to die to make it worthwhile.

So now what's more important? You better say your wife.

Aside from the fact that I think it is tasteless to post a critically ill person's picture in a public forum, why doesnt the picture come up? I get a login to sprintpcs.com.

Off course it is not allowed, but luckily the automatic filter filters it out.
For now I'm letting it slide as long as it doesnt happen again...
