I'm thinking of taking a 2-year secondment with my company in London. I currently work in NYC.

    Any advice?

Agreed... you'll want to fit in with the culture. It may help to watch Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels so you know what people in the UK are like.

Get used to non-existant customer service and a complete lack of desire to do anything well which will be offset by the scorchingly hot women with awesome accents that might just let you have a go...

Customer service exists, but in a very different way than in the US.
Personally I don't prefer either way, the US way is too over the top, fake, while the UK way has too much apathy (exeptions in both countries exepted)

In Australia they seemed to have a better balance I found. More focused on the real wants and needs of the customer, open to hagling/bargaining and friendly.

P.s. I'm dutch, live in UK now, used to live in Sydney, and spend a lot of time in the US for bussines.
