    Are you brand aware that a VW can only cost x max? if the car you buy is worth the pricetag it doesnt matter what the label on it says..
    Some cars are overpriced just because they have a good reputation, but the basis of that reputation has long gone in many cases. now they just use it to jack up the price..

    Personally I'd rather get a nice VW than a ****ty BMW for example. But there are people that lose all rationality when they see certain brands..

    It's not so much that it is a VW, it's that it is 89,000-125,000. That being said why would anyone spend 125,000 on any car period.

    OK, that makes a lot more sense

    if you buy these cars used, you don't pay those outrageous figures.
    a car is the worst investment you can make, but you don't want a cheap car, since if you drive through snow at times you'll need one that handles well. and you don't want to break the bank on some flashy model, you'll pay your life away on something that only depreciates with time.
    its one thing to have a dream car, but its another to have the best car for you and your situation.

    My wife has a 2002 Maxima SE and she just loves it. The 255hp is nice, but FWD isn't to my liking (torque steer). But for under $25k its quite a nice car and the new 6th generation Max has a tad more HP (265 I believe).

    My Bimmer is "only" 225hp and a convertible to boot (heavy) but I still love it...nothing beats Bavaria!

    The 12 cyl Phaeton is the "cheapest" 12 cyl out there. The interior is just gorgeous but it still should have an Audi badge - people have a hard time shelling out that kind of jack on a car with such a humble nameplate.

    I still cannot justify spending this much on a car. I do not care if I have all the money in the world, I would never spend this much on a car. I would rather take my money and buy another house or even a condo in some rapidly developing city. This is where I would get the best rate of return on my money that I shelled out. If your money isn't working for you, you are working for your money.

    Like Destin, in the panhandle of Florida! It is going crazy. The returns over there defy sanity. We signed up for two condos last May and within a month had offers for +20%! They still aren't finished. I've recently heard assignments are expected to be +40% prior to completion. Other areas nearby that are doing well are Santa Rosa Beach, anything along 30A (Seaside, WaterColor, WaterSound, RedFish). Panama City is good if you are far west. How bout that for going off-topic! btw, anything over 45,000 for a vehicle is crazy.

    Congratulations, how did that drive for you? And did my suggestion steer you in that direction?

    It's at the MB dealer now (it needed work on one of the wheel bearings) and yes your advice was really useful, I don't think I would have thought of the C32 on my own.

    Well that is great to hear. Let me know when you drive that puppy. I would like to know how far that grin stretchs to your ears, when you mash the G-Pedal.

    Subaru Legacy under 30k... uses STI engine which produces 300 stock. Legacy looks pretty good. It's stock with 250, but since it has turbo it's easy to get 300 hp out of it.
    Sony n710 --> N760 --> NX70 ---> NZ90 ---> 4get sony ---> Treo 600 -- and two weeks later--> (Feb 05)Treo650 .... (March '08) Centro... Palm Pre (launch date)
