Apparently you found it to be inconvienient to respond to two of my posts regarding the government's report on the melting Arctic. I'm still waiting.

Speaking of inconvienient...do I need permission to post a link or quote an article from the on-line journal for which you serve on the editorial committee? http://www.unal.edu.co/geociencias/ESRJ_eng.htm

Yes, conspiracy.....as you seem to think I have ties to the oil industry. LOL!

So tell me, who are these "oil-types" you seem to have me confused with?

And those are just the theads you started! My my my...it would appear that any semblence of fair and balanced discourse with you is just not going to happen now is it?

Well you told us all how much you like the thing so I read through some of the content. But I also noticed you are on the Editorial Committee so I thought I should ask you for permission to post excerpts from it.

    Liar liar pants on fire!

I've read the posts and they share the same level of hate and contempt that you do up here. Even the smart a$$ed writing style is the same. It's you, gojeda. There arent' too many gojeda's that are neoconservatives with such a prolific record of self-importance and trolling as you, so I'm confident in my conclusion.

I am on the editorial committee? LOL - of what committee again?
Oh you know...your CV ties it all together very nicely.

So tell me, did you at least become a naturalized US citizen before you became a chickenhawk, or are you one of my favorite kind of neocons - the non-US citizen that practices their chickenhawkery from even further way than young Republicans that live on US soil?

Don't "editorial" boards usually have high ethical standards they operate by? In that case, being grossly under qualified, gojeda couldn't possibly be remotely connected.

Wow. Reading some of these posts I find it absolutely remarkable that the userid and writing style of this gojeda is so similar to yours. Let's have a look now, shall we:

Republicans do not like Paul because he isn't Republican. Democrats will never vote for him because he is running as a Republican. He will get votes from neither side.

What part of any of this is so hard to fathom? I am truly convinced Ron Paul supporters have not the faintest clue how idiotic they sound sometimes.
+1 diggs by gojeda on 08/12/2007

I'm sorry, what law is this again? I have the Constitution and the entire U.S Code open in front of me. Can you please give a relevant section number please?

    LOL as if.

I would say that if you are going to willy-nilly cross names off your list (whether it be Republican, Democrat, or otherwise) that you are probably not a particularly well informed voter, or a voter that does not take the act of voting seriously.
    Wow. The resemblence is uncanny.

No wonder gojeda took offense to 'Guido". Where I come from, it's a perfectly respectful term of endearment. Where gojeda comes from, it represents repressed socialist communism. One can only hope I can be more politically-correct toward him in the future.

from my current place of renditioned confinement, I've not been able to sneak access onto OT much -- so I apologize that I'm not too current on what has been under discussion here.

By chance my hidden Treo is working momentarily long enough for me to catch this recent exchange.

Personally I'm not that bothered by what you might write, or where you might have written it gojeda -- than by the pattern of being confronted by facts and truth and simply denying them.

I've personally observed how you reacted when shown that Vint Cerf honored and esteemed Al Gore's contribution to the creation of the internet for example. Instead of acknowledging that you might have been wrong and accepting the opinion of the person you had yourself been citing -- you claimed that you meant to have cited someone else.

Now if someone were to say that I was formerly the dictatoial CEO of a some long forgotten European empire, I too would indignantly deny it. (no matter how many waterboarding sessions await me...)

Nevertheless, acknowledging facts and recognizing truth is a neccesary part of growth and learning.

As is admitting and understanding ones own errors.

    Which indeed was the case.

But I do notice the recurring theme of belittling the opposition by questioning their intelligence. I will give you the benefit of a doubt here that you are not engaging in such callow behavior that is expected by, in particular, two others.

Furthermore accept the opinion of.....who? Cerf? Lee?

Why would I have to accept the opinion of whoever you are talking about when it was an analogy being made during that particular exchange?

You seem quite confused here BARYE.

As is admitting and understanding ones own errors.
In which case, what would be the excuse for your worship of Al Gore, for instance?

Well, I am glad you are confident in at least one thing in your life.

Too bad it is as misguided as are most of your ramblings on the forum.

So tell me, did you at least become a naturalized US citizen before you became a chickenhawk, or are you one of my favorite kind of neocons - the non-US citizen that practices their chickenhawkery from even further way than young Republicans that live on US soil?
I was waiting for your latent xenophobic demeanor to make its appearance. Bingo -- there it is.

No matter how much you try to hide it, Modboy, it will ultimately betray you. No wonder you and Shortie get along so well.

I am flattered, though, that you are so fascinated by me that you have embarked your little Internet investigation over little-'ol-me.

I never knew a person could be THAT bored with themselves. LMFAO!!

I tell ya, the browbeating around here is just disgusting. After a while one would think people would simply grow sick to death of all these self-aggrandizing character attacks, name-calling, and sanctimonious criticism for the sake of political views.

What nauseating nonsense this forum is, as the pretention around here is just utterly and unabashedly absurd.

In large part this off topic forum seems to be a hangout for political blowhards and self-important buffoons attacking others of opposing viewpoints. The fact that some here even go as far as to investigate other members' identities in order to do so just sets unbelievable new lows around here. Incredibly pathetic.

Enough already. Can we get back to a discussion of substance?

Googling a userID is hardly an investigation. I shudder to think what I could find if I were really looking. Everything is there and quite easy to find - CV, past bios, articles, posts in other forums that he trolls in, etc. Perhaps when trolling from forum to forum across the net with his neoconservative sniping at all things slightly leaning to the left (I mean, this guy makes Rumsfield look like a liberal) he should have been a bit more clever than to use his first initial, last name. In the end, I believe his penchant for "self-aggrandizing character attacks" got the better of him. I for one are happy to know what industry he comes from as it certainly puts his oil-industry slanted drivel in a much better context.

The rest of your points are well taken and I mostly agree. There are several on this forum such as Hobbes and Shop that never seem to have to resort to the condescending tone that gojeda literally began with and continues to post in every thread on this forum. In fact, I think there are several instances where I tried keep things above the fray but he continued to troll from thread to thread.

That said, I've added him to my ignore list. Perhaps those that care do discuss things in a more civilized manner can continue to do so by tuning some of this noise out.
