Tell it here and now: Do YOU think a homosexual should be killed?!
(And I am still waiting for the quote regarding what the Constitution has to say about gays/lesbians.)

Like i said, no one should ever walk over to a gay guy in the street and murder him. Even G-d doesnt want that. He said himself "thou shalt not murder". However, He does mandate, that we institute a RELIGIOUS court (rules for that are set up elsewhere in the Bible, unfortunately, we dont have the criteria to form one nowadays) to uphold religious transgessions, and punish the transgressors of same. So no do not kill a gay guy, but yes, i do believe that in G-d's mind, and in mine, he is DESERVING of the death penalty by the hands of a regious court if we'd have one.

It doesnt mention anything explicitly, you funny guy! But what do you think all the legal hype is about nowadays? That the COnstitution refuses to RECOGNIZE gay marriages as marriages.

Earlier you called on Chick-Dance a "huge fool." A fool is someone who wishes death on someone else, because that person has personal differences than his. I am floored by your comment.

Well, I was going to post some lucid comment about the benefits of the gay couples I know.... The ones who make annual mission trips to africa... The couple that adopted a mentally ill child that no-one else was willing to care for... or the couple who cares for our mentally ill child when none of our hetro friends are willing to.

But then I figured, there was no point and that minds are fixed on this, and regardless of what I say, in 10 years the US will probably be more of a religious state than Iraq...

So I decided not to post.

    But then I saw this:

Can we at least agree on this:

What 'good' to the society does the embargo/isolation of Cuba do the US. It's not like we don't trade with other equally repressive regimes. This policy is clearly the benefit of a few (the cuban ex-pat population) vs. the good of everyone else.

Let's get real. We've normalized relations with Vietnam. Why can't we normalize relations with Cuba?

Your interpretation of the Constitution is amazing. The constitution does NOT directly address gay marriage, sir. If anything, the Constitution states: "equal under the law" established in the U. S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights – and the separation of church and state.

Thanks for sharing! Too bad someone here (bmedetsky) wants them dead

So no do not kill a gay guy, but "yes, i do believe that in G-d's mind, and in mine, he is DESERVING of the death penalty by the hands of a regious court if we'd have one. "

you are in urgent need of professional counseling on this matter regarding your belief that gays deserve the death penalty. you're thinking is disturbed. there's really no more to this.
I have to admit I am interested to know what your background is, religious and otherwise, to be able to piece together how such an anti-social attitude can take hold on someone's mentality.
at some point in life you really have to grasp the fact that this is a horribly misguided belief. seriously, talk to someone about this - its no trivial matter. you'd be surprised how beliefs like this shape your behavior and the choices you make based on them in the future.
I can't stress enough how wrong you are on this one. this is big, dude.

The bible mandates killing people for lots of silly reasons (in my humble view of course), like stoning to death members of the society who change their religious beleifs, or killing the owner of an ox if that animal kills somebody else, etc. I don't see how you can put so much trust in a book which asks for things like that.

The bible is also full of contradictions. If two statements contradict each other, at least one of them must be false, so there must be false statements in the bible. You can find a list of strange things in the bible here. If you think all of the things mentioned are misconceptions, maybe you can clarify some of them?

Here is just one example of many (Jesus' last words):
Matt.27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."

Luke23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."

John19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

I also don't understand why you write G-d instead of god or God. It doesn't change anything about the meaning of the word, and it does not conceal the fact that you are referring to god, so what's the point?

That's really weird. On one hand, you agree that homosexuals are a group of people which should be killed (after conviction by a religious court), on the other hand you say membership in this group is totally irrelevant and should not be noted...?

    As I said before:
No need to do that (closing the thread), and if people keep dicussing this on in a civil way there will be no need..
saying people should be killed because of their sexuality is not a civil way IMHO and I feel this thread will only escalate further.
And given the fact of the number of complaints we got on this thread (from people with vary diverse political views too, not not only left wing wining libs..) I'm calling it quits and close this thread..
