    Definitely HTML tag, IMHO. Here's an HTML example I have been using successfully (works for IE and FF and probably other browsers, the sound file is called "sound.mid"):

    <bgsound src="sound.mid" loop="-1">
    <!-- Microsoft: -->
    <bgsound src="sound.mid" loop="-1">
    </head>
    <body>
    <!-- Netscape: -->
    <embed src="sound.mid" autostart="true" loop="true" hidden="true" height="0" width="0">
    </head>

    I am sure there is better HTML code, though...
