    You could ask for that as part of your restitution.

    $2000 and 15 minutes alone in a windowless room.

    Doubt they will allow the treo in court..

    When we went to a tribunal over a rent dispute they checked for camera's and that wasnt even a full court....

    actually yes. been busy and havent taken the time to update this.

    we went to mediation on St Pats day and worked the whole thing out. took two days and it involved compromise but I am satisfied.

    To make a long story short I went down from my $2000 suit to $1000 cash now and he went up from $0 to $1000 as long as I was willing to forgive him.

    I did and he paid me a grand. Done deal. We both feel better and it's over.

    Not full replacement but I am satisifed and I dont have to waste April fool's Day in court.

    Thanks for asking TK. Thnaks to everyone else who followed along and offered their support. Hopefully you'll never end up in this situation.

    Moral of the story. Don't loan out anything worth more than $20 and if you must, only loan that which you are prepared to lose.

    I'm glad it worked out for you. Most times, settling for a loss is better than battling in court and then trying to collect on a judgment.
    Palm V-->Visor Deluxe-->Visor Prism-->Visorphone-->Treo 180-->Treo 600-->Treo 650 on Sprint-->Treo 700p-->Centro-->Diamond-->Pre-->HTC EVO 4g???!

    Glad things worked out for you Woof!

    Reason I asked is another story reminded me of yours.
    A guy in holland lend his car to his (dodgy) brother who got pulled over and it turned out he had 1000€ worth of outstanding fines. So the police impounded the car and are going to auction it if he doesnt pay up.
    Apperantly there is a new law that allows them to do this (impound cars owned by 3rd parties) in order to catch crooks who drive cars they register on some junky's name in order to avoid it getting impounded..

    But for this guy it realy sucks..

    does that include your close friends??

    yunno t thats a good question. I would like to believe it wouldnt be an issue with my close friends. I plan to address it on a case by case basis though. I will say though that if it's not a close friend there will be no chance.
