Did you know that Alex Bell had his original operators, which were young men, answer the line with "Ahoy"?

"Operator" was to come into use much later...

nothing like a bit of old trivia.

You Say Hello, I Say Ahoy - Produced by The Kitchen Sisters, Davia Nelson & Nikki Silvia with Art Silverman
The greeting hello is a fairly recent invention. Professor Allen Koenigsberg author of The Patent History of the Phonograph believes the word wasn't in use much before Thomas Edison introduced it as a way to let a caller know you had picked up a ringing phone. Edison preferred "Hello" over Alexander Graham Bell's "AHOY!" as a greeting. In either case, English may be the only language where the telephone greeting has become proper to use in a face-to-face greeting.

I have a fondness for intelligence.
I often black out when doing something really stupid. I supose that's why I'm such a danger to my self

    This thread is for nothing...
Love is a chemical state of mind that's part of our genes and influenced by our upbringing. We are wired for romance in part because we are supposed to be loving parents who care diligently for our helpless babies.

    Today A friend I don't have showed me a prototype Treo 000!

    This is sooo coool!

It has no memory, no sd card slot, no screen or thumboard.
It does not need batteries, has no Built-in wi-fi (like all the other treos),
Never crashes because there are no programs to run on it. They do not have a carrier signed-up for it yet, but that is no problem, since it has no data, no web-browsing, no e-mail,and no phone capabilities.

They hope to offer it to the public by never, for No money down, and no dollars a month! No Razor, No Moto, etc. will be able to compete! It's a no-brainer!
