You insulted milions of innocent muslims with your 'joke'. Either way it was discrimination, the rest is just semantics.
I dont understand why you got your panties in such a knot. The joke mentioned Islamic terriorists and not millions of innocent muslims. So if I was discriminating against terriorists, I guess you are right. You must be MENSA because I certainly dont follow your logic.

And not all doorknobs are women?... Thus the illogic of logic-of-doom continues on this thread. Cheap entertainment is better then no entertainment at all. Bravo.

Whether or not it is discriminatory is not really the issue, in my book. It is inflammatory and should not be said. Same goes for white trash remarks and a whole host of other comments.

there was a programme on BBC radio a few weeks ago discussing terrorism and one of the guests, a muslim, made the following point, which I can't quote exactly but it went along the lines of " not all muslims are terrorists but sadly, mostly all of the terrorists are muslims".

Alot, because you miss the implication of the statement. What motivates 99% of terrorists against the US, is not their gender, their height, or the amount of hair they have, but their views as influenced by Islam.

Lets take it back 60 years...

I heard someone say once, not all Germans are our enemies, but almost all our enemies are German
I heard someone say once, not all those over 3 feet tall are our enemies, but almost all Germans are over 3 feet tall....

Do you disagree with this statement:
not all muslims are terrorists but sadly, mostly all of the terrorists are muslims.

If you do take some time and try to square your belief with reality

And what are your supporting arguments? You state it as fact, but without anything else, it is as meaningful as any of the "facts" I put forth.

Most jokes are offensive to someone. They are designed to make people laugh, usually at someone's expense. Are you going to ban jokes next?

I don't know, but I'm sure there are quite a few muslims who read TC...
I imagine there are viewers with all kinds of religions..
And of course it doesnt matter if someone complains, it's your job to stand up for the oppressed and prevent their sufferring.

I'm not trying to make everybody feel good, I enforce the rules of this board, it clearly says when you sign up that it is against the rules to discriminate.
And what is wrong with trying to not hurt somebody's feelings? I was brought up to treat other the way I would like to be threated.. and feel that is a good philosophy..
and having the TOS flag to wave about in everyones face doesnt hurt either. I wonder what sort of comments you would have if you didnt have that to hide behind.

It is fine to disagree, it is not fine to discriminate.
That's right folks, it not even ok to discriminate against terrorists because they have feelings too.

Thanks for the english lesson, so which word would you use when people discriminate based on religion?
how about trying 'religious discrimination' or 'religious bias' or maybe just focus on the fact that she was talking about terrorists not a specific religion.

exactly, I wasn't trying to make a big point about how I feel about muslims or saying something that I feel strongly about..I was just stating what someone else had said and I'm sure people will have their own views on it. It just seemed quite an interesting point / assertion, that's all

Thanks for the redirection. Seriously, it may seem harsh or painful but it is reality. I believe saying terrorists just conceals who we're fighting, mainly because the terrorists themselves hang the coat of their actions upon the peg of Islam. It is the terrorists themselves that drive home the point that their acts flow from their beliefs.

No kidding. We're the infidels and we need to be killed cause it says so in the Koran according to them.

But of course we wouldnt want to say anything bad about a group of people just because they want to kill us. Heck no. Lets compliment them and smile alot and they will change their minds and leave us alone.

Sorry, but anyone who believes that is patently STUPID! If you are offended by that I'm sorry. The truth is like that sometimes.

Seriously, why not say it? Its fact, its the truth, its reality. 99% of all terrorism against the US was caused by Islamic terrorists.

True. I believe most Muslims are just like everyone else, work hard, raise a family, want good things for their children etc.

But this is not imcompatible with the fact that most terrorist are muslims. And a round and round we go

Yes there are, but do we see them marching in the streets or vocally shouting against their murderous bretheren? NO be cause they know that will make them targets too.

Therefore the 'muslims' we see everyday are the bad ones and as a result when we speak of muslims we are speaking of the bad ones.

It's like sharks. They dont all eat people but when people mention sharks do you think of the whale shark that has no teeth and eats plankton or do you think of the great white that is a proven maneater?

I agree there is truth to what you are saying. Most Muslim cultures do not tolerate desent or even criticism. Remember Salman Rushdie? Or the author today who was killed for criticizing Islam.

Or that in many Muslim countries you must go before a tribunal if you wish to become un-muslim.

Regardless, if you don't like people challenging your beliefs, you should question if you have challenged them.

Have you noticed which post triggered my warning?

Making discriminatory jokes about terrorist is in poor taste IMHO but that didnt trigger the warning. it is your total lack of respect who (quoting oops now) 'millions of Muslims who are NOT terrorists and wear Turbans on their heads as well' By doing that you stepped over the line.
