I spoke on the phone a while back to a man called Cliff Edge. Straight up, cross my heart and hope to die. He was one of the most miserable men I've ever spoken to, probably spent half his life getting the **** taken out of him.

I also know of the existence of a Mrs Annette Curtain.

Anyone got any other examples? They have to be true.

I used to have a professor by the name of ... robert ******.

now I could not for the life of me understand why the guy never changed his name - he was the nicest guy but you just hated having to introduce him to people.
you can imagine the awkwardness inherent! lol.

My cousine married a guy called 'de dood' (which means death in dutch).
They tried to change their name but in the end they gave up, the rules are pretty strict (and silly) and they didnt want to end up with a weird sollution like d'eath (which I'm sure was death originally).
I sure hope none of their sons wants to become a doctor...

Although not as rude, and therefore not as funny, we had a lad in our class called Mee. I remember the teacher asking for the first register "Who's next?"
    "Me" was the reply
    "What's your name?"
    "Mee"
    "No, what is your name?"
    "It's Mee"

this went on for a while, after which the teacher said "Right, who's after Mee?" and cracked up.

My sister gave birth and another mom on the floor named her baby (pronounced Leh-Mon-Gel-oh). She didn't think about it until she saw the baby in the nursery and saw the name on a sign that said: "Lemonjello <lastname>"

Not sure if the mom really loved lemon flavored jello or what - but figured it was worth posting here.

a family friend works in social services and was working w\ a young mother who was about to have her soon-to-be born baby taken from her because, among other things, she was going to prounounce the baby's name ASH-HO-LEY and spell it A$$HOLE.

I never found out if the baby was removed but I can only hope she was.

I don't know if this was truth or a rumor, but supposedly someone named their baby - siphylis, because she just simply liked the sound of it, and wanted to give her newborn a distinguishing name, ya know? not just some common old run of the mill name like jack or jill. hmmh.
