    Hey,

My computer got jacked with an ie toolbar and a lions-biz/try-this search home page.

I found the browser hijack recover software BHR, but can't figure out how to use it. And there is no instructions.???

Anyone have a good website/forum or had personal experience with this so i can get this ^&*#$ thing removed?

I've downloaded Hijack this, but don't really know how to use it.

    thanks steve

well, if we are talking about a desktop PC you shold try using Lavasoft's Ad-aware:
    http://www.lavasoft.de/
(click on download in the left toolbar)

In addition, you should consider switching from using IE to Mozilla, Mozilla tends to have a lot less issues of that nature.

Yeah, i do use IE and am in process of getting Mozilla.

Meanwhile, i still need to remove this. I have adaware, spysweeper, NIS 2004, Spybot, and still no luck.

I concur with Tekara's suggestions. In addition to Lavasoft's ad-aware, you may want to try another free spyware remover called Spybot Search and Destroy:

Tekara's second link will lead you to the FireFox browser, definitely give that a shot!

I know this may sound contrived, but have you updated ad aware?

majorgeeks has helped me out on two laptops recently. No claireglrl, not my laptops.

    read the tutorials on majogeeks.
basically run adaware and spybot then reboot into safe mode and run hijaak this.
you will need to have another pc handy to do some homework on the things you would want hijaak this to remove.

read the tutorials, and search! you have no idea how many threads are needlessly started on MG because people have not read the tutorials and searched for similar threads.

The program "hijackthis" almost always works for browser hijacking.
