Two completely different men with similar builds step into a bar at the exact same time. Both happen to order scotch on the rocks at the same time. What neither one knows is that the bartender has secretly poisoned both drinks...

One of the men has his drink immediately and then dances for 45 mins. The other dances first for 45 mins then has his drink. The one who drinks first goes on to live happily. The other one dies. Why?

The poison was in the ice. The ice didn't have a chance to melt for the first guy, but did for the second one

here's a good one, based on a real game show. A contestant has 3 doors to choose, 2 conceal goats 1 hides a car. After she chooses the host opens 1 of the doors she didn't choose to show a goat. He then gives her the chance to change her mind to the remaining door. What should she do? Or does it make no difference?

    PeterBrown,

Change. Everytime. That's an old one.

I'm still clueless on the clock one.

Can't be as old as the clock one! I think there are 11 examples an hour, not 12.

    Should be an easy one..

You have a stick (length is irrelevant). How many times do you have to break the stick to get 8 equal pieces?

    Three times.

    1. Break in half - Get 2 equal pieces.
    2. Take those two and break in half at same time - Get 4 equal pieces
    3. Take those four and break in half at same time - Get 8 equal pieces

I disagree, just because you're breaking two sticks at once doesn't mean you're making one break. You're still making two breaks, just simultaneously. The answer is seven breaks have to be made in the twiX

Interestingly enough, 7 was the answer I was going for originally

This is an old one. See if you know it. I hope I can remember it.

There is a room with a door and no Windows. When the door is closed you can't see inside, no light passes through the door or around it's edges or by the floor. The door is closed. There are Three, two position switches outside the door (standard light switches). Up on the switches is on, down is off.

There is a lamp on a table in the room.

You must figure out which switch turns on the light.

You may only open the door once. You may not move any switches while the door is open (even a little bit sneaky ones, )

How do figure out which switch turns on the light?

I hope I got all the conditions right

Hmmmm....how about turning on the first switch, wait about a minute or so, then turn off the first switch and turn on the second switch. Open the door. If light is on, you know it's switch 2. If light is still off, feel the light bulb. If it's warm, it was switch 1, if it's cold....switch 3. That about right?

    Here's an old one:

You die. You find yourself in a room that has 2 unmarked doors. Outside of the doors there are two identical guards. There is a sign that explains to you that one door leads to heaven, the other leads to hell (no theology here, please). The sign also states that one of the guards always tells the truth, while the other one always lies. You can ask either of the guards one question to determine which door to take, but you won't know which guard you're asking, so....what's your question?

You ask one of the guards which door the other guard would say leads to heaven...
